The Excellence Newsletter Spring Term 2022 Dear Parents, We are pleased to share with you the Spring 2022 Excellence Newsletter and Excellence Programme. As you can see, we are looking forward to a busy and exciting term ahead. In particular, we are eagerly looking forward to our annual evening event, bringing together the School Community and the Local Community for a series of short academic talks. Talks-on-the-Hill 2022 will be held on Thursday 3rd February at 6pm, on the topic of ‘Community and Environment’ with Dr Lynne Guyton, CEO of John Lyon’s Charity, giving the keynote address. I would be delighted to hear from any parents who would like to deliver a talk at this event, please do email me at FRW@johnlyon.org for further details. We encourage pupils and parents to review the Excellence Programme together and select which events to attend and which competitions to enter. As a reminder, the Excellence Programme is the list of optional talks and events that pupils can choose to attend for their academic enrichment. The talks listed in this Newsletter are the talks that all pupils, from the relevant year groups, will be invited to hear. Finally, please use this link to view the ten brilliant talks delivered at our recent TEDxJohnLyonSchool event by John Lyon pupils, a teacher and external experts: TEDxJohnLyonSchool - 2021. Yours sincerely, Dr F Weinberg FRW@johnlyon.org
