WELCOME TO JMA SIXTH FORM At John Madejski Academy Sixth Form, academic achievement comes first. This belief lies at the heart of everything we do. We expect the very best from our students and work hard to ensure that all are challenged and inspired to achieve their full potential. We recognise that in order to succeed students need to feel happy and supported. At the sixth form we combine a caring and friendly approach within a studious and well-ordered environment. Students are valued and given the opportunity to be role models for the rest of the school community. A broad and balanced curriculum is offered as well as support, advice and guidance to provide a positive and successful experience for all our students. We are extremely proud of the increasing number of students who are graduating from our Sixth Form to higher education, including Russell Group universities, or the workplace. A key component of our success is our prestigious Elite Sport Programme, attracting youngsters with exceptional attitude in basketball or football from the local area and beyond. We organise our curriculum so that students on this programme have access to the academic and vocational qualifications that support their sporting development and prepare them for the next stage of their lives.
VISION AND VALUES We have a clear vision for post-16 learning at John Madejski Academy. We want our students to graduate as mature, responsible, resilient and flexible life-long learners. We are committed to equipping them to thrive in the fast moving, knowledge based economy and preparing them to cope with the global challenges of the 21st century. Our Sixth Form is committed to providing the very best standards of teaching and learning, the broadest curriculum, the most effective pastoral support and excellent extension and enrichment activities. We believe the fantastic quality of our teaching staff and the personal care we take in supporting students through their post-16 studies make a huge contribution to their future success.
