“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. “ -Henry David Thoreau

“The possession of arbitrary power has always, the world over, tended irresistibly to destroy humane sensibility, magnanimity, and truth. -Frederick Law Olmstead

THIS IS THE REAL CABIN OF AMERICAN AUTHOR

H E N R Y D A V I D T H O R E A U ,

IT WAS BUILT IN 2002 “Golden Calf” It explicitly states that this cabin is a just a mere replica, yet it is still seen by others as original, rather than its — this is a golden calf that “idealizes” Thoreau’s cabin, living condition and his belief during his momentary period of “reclusive and natural” living.

“Did you ever wonder if the person in the puddle is real, -Bill Watterson

“The does not want to copy his surroundings on the one hand, or make us see them through his eyes on the other. He is a specialist who shows us in his work as if in a something we have not realized for ourselves: the state of our own soul. - Sigfried Giedion

Leisure W.H. Davis What is this life if, full of care, No time to stand beneath the boughs, And stare as long as sheep and cows: No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass: No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night: No time to turn at Beauty’s glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance: No time to wait till her mouth can

A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
