We have won the last three Rock Cups on the trot and like any big team want to continue in the same way another year. For this to happen we come out to each game as if it were the actual Rock Cup Final and in this way we will continue, but always with our feet on the ground and be humble. Thanks

Good Afternoon Everyone, Today´s game against Glacis United is a different competition, which as it’s the Rock Cup its very different to the league as if you loose this game you will be out of the Cup. Its not as in the league, which if you loose a game you can still catch up and get away with a bad result you have obtained previously.
This week we have to change our chip, as it´s the Cup, we have to carry on with what we have been doing in the past and play with the same intensity we have had in our previous games. Glacis United I am sure will go all out to try and get a result and we know that it will be difficult game against them, we can´t be complacent if we want to get a positive result.
We should know that and we have to try and impose our style of play and at least equal the level we have been playing in the past games. I am passionate about this Cup, we are the Cup holders so we are defending our title. We are going into this game to have a good Cup run, but we have to go game by game. The 1st round of the Cup against Glacis United we hope to have a good and complete game in all our senses and go through to the next round.

Today’s Opponents Glacis United
Glacis United Football Club was founded in 1964 by Alfredo Sene, Norberto Tosso and Pedro Borge and competed in the 1964/65 Gibraltar Football Association’s (GFA) second division. The team was mainly made up from players of other first division teams mainly Europa FC who at the time disbanded and relinquished their GFA membership. The team, under the management of Peter Borge (Club co-founder) and James Cortes, won the second division championship in their inaugural season and gained promotion to the GFA’s first division.
In their first season in the top-flight, Glacis United clinched a League and Rock Cup double. This was just the beginning of a successful era in which nine further consecutive league championships were won together with other domestic cup wins. During this period of silver-ware the team competed internationally in Morocco, Spain, England and Portugal having also played against teams from the English lower leagues, the likes of Scarborough, Kidderminster Harriers, Stourbridge and Oswestry.
They have won the League 17 times, Senior Cup 12 times & Rock Cup 5 times.

Gibtelecom Rock Cup The Rock Cup is Gibraltar's premier cup football competition, and has been organised annually by the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) since 1895. Due to a sponsorship with Gibtelecom, the cup is currently known as the Gibtelecom Rock Cup.
The Rock Cup is entered by all teams of Gibraltar's Premier League and Second League as well as the Under 15 national team, until 2015 when the Under 15s were not entered. It is played in a knock-out format with single legged ties. Second division sides enter in Round One with three randomly drawn teams receiving byes into the second round, where Premier Division sides will enter. In 2014 UEFA president Michel Platini presented the trophy to the winners.

FOOTBALL GIBRALTAR Europa winger Juan Luis ‘Juanlu’ Becerra Gallego is awarded FG Player of the Week for his performance in their 5-0 win over Lynx. Juan Luis ‘Juanlu’ Becerra Gallego – Europa FC (1st) Juanlu has started all of Europa’s games so far in the Championship Group while his start was slow, Juanlu or ‘Willy’ as known to his team-mates, really came to life in the Lynx game and scored his first two goals in that game. While his first one has a slight of fortune to it, there was no topic of debate for his second as he sweetly struck a volley past Bradley Banda from an Ethan Jolley cross.

FG Manager of the Month For January – Rafael Escobar (Europa FC) In a month which saw the National League start its split into two separate divisions, Europa’s Rafael Escobar has been Manager of the Month for January. While both Lincoln and Europa both won their two games in the top half, Europa’s 3-1 win over St Joseph’s was enough to propel Escobar to the top of the pile this month in the managerial awards. The win was key in keeping the title challenge on track (as we saw with subsequent matches in February), while they learned the lessons from taking Lions too lightly before Christmas, by dispatching of them 5-0 this time.
