Today’s Opponents St. Joseph FC Formed in 1912, St Joseph's are one of Gibraltar's oldest existing football clubs. They have consistently competed in the Gibraltar Premier Division in that time, however, they have only won the title once; in the 1995-96 season. They have seen considerably better fortunes in the Rock Cup, however, with 9 titles in their history, including a league and cup double in 1996. Their last Rock Cup triumph came in 2013. Since Gibraltar became a member of UEFA, the Saints have seen more mixed fortunes, including narrowly avoiding relegation in the 2013-14 season, ending up in the relegation play-off and narrowly beating Mons Calpe to retain their Premier Division status. Since that near miss, they have consistently finished in the top half of the league, and in 2017 qualified for the UEFA Europa League for the first time with a 3rd-place finish, after Gibraltar had been given an additional spot in the competition. However, their maiden campaign would be short-lived as they suffered a resounding 10-0 aggregate defeat to AEL Limassol.

SPOT ON Dayle Coleing Europa FC & Gibraltar Dayle you played a great game against Phoenix saving two penalties, do you think you have reached your top level now? In my eyes I don’t think I am anywhere near my top level. I still have a lot to learn and a lot to prove. I am training hard everyday to reach my peak and I don’t plan on stopping now. The penalties you saved was it intuition or luck? It definitely wasn’t luck, I more or less knew where he was going the 1st time round and figured he would switch sides on the 2nd, part of mind games I guess. You have played a few games with Europa and was in the Gibraltar FA squad, what’s your ambition? My ambition has always been to become the 1st keeper of Europa and The National team, but right now I am patiently waiting for my time and consider myself fortunate enough to be training under very talented players whom I am learning a lot from. You also coach Goalkeepers is it a thing you will do in the future? Absolutely, I enjoy coaching young goalkeepers and watching them progress and achieve their personal goals.
