Important News on Discipline Hearings Following a chapter trial when discipline is imposed upon a member, as stated in Section 62 of the Fraternity Laws, that member’s first appeal is to the Province Council instead of to the Supreme Council. Essentially, the Province Council acts as the first appellate court, and the Supreme Council acts as the second appellate court. As always, the Fraternity Convention is the final appellate body. Carolina and Clemson Fraternity Policies In South Carolina, we have lost two members of Greek Society in other fraternities at Clemson and Carolina. We have seen a number of fraternities closed, and quite a few placed on probation for alcohol and hazing violations. Please read this new article at how the Board of Trustees for both campuses are taking a zero tolerance attitude toward hazing and underage drinking with tighter and more stringent policies. These kinds of new policies are being considered at other campuses as well.
