Greenville 2013 Rush Party a Success! SAE sponsored our second annual rush social this summer in Greenville. Alumni, parents and rushees in the Greenville area were invited to attend. The event was held at the Pavilion in the Greenville Drive Stadium (home of the Greenville Drive) for the baseball game scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013. We had sixty people at the party. The venue was a real benefit to the fraternity in obtaining a strong Fall 2013 pledge class. As in years past, we have many fine young men in SAE at Carolina and we view the Greenville rush party as an opportunity to support these young men and to continue the tradition of excellence in SAE Delta. Many thanks to Henry Sullivan '84 for organizing the party. Contact him at phone (864) 907 -7354 or email hsull@bellsouth.net.

tax deductible under IRS laws governing 501(c)(3) organizations. All donations to a CEF are included in the donor's lifetime giving record with the Foundation.
A CEF is a fund managed and invested by the Foundation and used to benefit a chapter's undergraduate members. A CEF is established with a taxdeductible contribution, or a combined total contribution of $5,000.
The pay-out for a CEF is usually not greater than 5 percent of the fund. This is available annually for use by a chapter for projects deemed "wholly educational in nature." In this case we use if for Leadership School tuition.

House Corporation News Ever since the housing corporation was reorganized in 1999, its purpose has been to raise funds to own, build, and occupy a fraternity house at the Greek Village. USC offered the land under a long term lease for a nominal annual fee. The cost of the 10,000 sq ft house and furnishings in 2001
was about $1.2 million. The corporation was able to raise about half that amount from alumni donors, then finance the rest. The balance of the mortgage is about $750,000. Under IRS rules, only the educational portion of a house is considered tax deductible, which can amount to about 1/3
of the footage. We have recently been able to convert the outstanding loan balance to an actual mortgage loan. Credit goes to Brother Courtney Leavitt for his management and supervision of the corporation and the house. Contact him at email clgamecock@gmail.com
