BLACK & WHITE FASHION PORTRAITURE HELLO, AND WELCOME TO JOHN FERGUSON’S FASHION PORTRAITS. We are a new and exciting premier photography location service, specialising in once-in-a-lifetime fashion inspired photographic experiences. Producing beautiful one-of-a-kind fine art magazine-style prints that will take your breath away. We’ve always been fascinated by the visual stories that one reads in the editorial spreads of the top fashion magazines. Creative fashion photography that forces one to stop and look deeper into the image; fully immersed and mesmerised. For us, it’s not just about the stunning outfits or the beautiful hair and makeup, it’s also the captivating stories that lure you into an entirely different world and make you forget about reality completely, even for a fleeting moment. We also adore people. Being able to meet interesting and fascinating people we wouldn’t otherwise get to meet is a big part of why we are photographers. Our favourite style is photographic portraiture, whether it be documentary or fashion portrait photography. From Richard Avedon, Irving Penn to Bailey and right up to Rankin, We’re utterly fascinated in capturing that look, that moment or that feeling. All of these are challenging for every photographer, but once you’ve captured that moment, that feeling, that look, it says more than 1000 words can, and it’s there for a lifetime. We’re looking to create breathtaking artistic images that go to a deeper level, to capture a person’s soul, and of course their beauty. So we’ve launched my location & studio fashion portraiture service combining a subtle zest of fine art and storytelling to create an engaging and unique blend of personality and style, for the discerning woman.

MY BACKGROUND JOHN’S BACKGROUND IN PHOTOGRAPHY GOES BACK NEARLY TWO DECADES, primarily in the editorial photographic markets, working on assignments for national and international newspapers and magazines. I’ve collaborated with a host of celebrities, from International Tv and Film stars to Musicians and Sports stars; on location, film sets, and in studios around the world.

My portraits come from my love of cinema, black and white Hollywood films of the 40’s and 50’s, a technique known as Film Noir, a style of cinematography defined by its mood and feel. This Film Noir style is accomplish with a low-key black-and-white lighting approach which, when produced correctly, can create stunning images that will we feel conjures up a feeling that you cannot achieve from any other portrait photography. This method can easily be accomplished in the comfort of your home at our studios, or at a suitable location of your choice. My small team and I will bring along the necessary lighting equipment, along with a master make-up and hair artist and also fashion stylist, if required, for your photo session. 10 | MUSE

YOU CAN BE PHOTOGRAPHED ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD if you so wish, it’s your choice. We‘re very happy to offer you the opportunity of your very own fantasy photo session. Your personal magazine photo-shoot in a glamours location of your choice. Maybe it’s a place that holds some meaning to you, or a foreign location that you’ve always loved. Your photo session begins with your hair & makeup by my glam team. After your transformation, we’ll choose your first outfit… then its time to unleash your inner supermodel and rock out in front of the camera. We’ll guide you through different poses and provide any encouragement when needed, but after you see your first image you won’t need it. By the end of the session, you should be feeling confident, sexy and empowered. 12 | MUSE

Once your photo session has finished, we will then set up another date for us to revisit you with your printed photographs. I will select the best hi-resolution retouched images and have them ready for you to choose your favourite mounted prints. You will also have the opportunity to choose other prints from your photo session if you so wish. There will also be the opportunity to purchase Fine Art high quality wall canvases of all your favourite images.
