PROJECT EXAMPLES MORRISON COURT, CITY OF WESTMINSTER, LONDON Client: Sovereign Network Group Role: Employer’s agent and site inspector Project size: A six storey block of 24 flats
We were employed to assist with the removal and replacement of the existing EWI render systems with a new fully A1 rated noncombustible EWI render system. The project also involved the replacement of spandrel panels and internal fire doors. The client’s fire engineer had identified that the existing external wall system was not fit for purpose and required removal. By facilitating the procurement and tender process in a timely manner, we enabled the contractor to start on site and remove the existing external wall systems. This removed risk from the building and allowed the client to release the existing waking watch, saving them a considerable sum on a weekly basis.
GREAT WEST QUARTER, BRENTFORD, LONDON Client: A2Dominion Group/Notting Hill Home Ownership Role: Employer’s agent and site inspector Project size: Six blocks of residential homes Appointed on the delivery of façade remediation works. We had originally undertaken visual surveys and intrusive investigations of the various blocks. Our report and subsequent findings were issued to our client, and we liaised with the client-appointed fire engineer to understand and agree on the remedial solution required. We were then involved in negotiating with the developer to agree on the extent of work needed and where responsibilities lay regarding the remediation works. We advised on specific technical elements of the proposed bespoke design and build contract alongside clientappointed legal advisers to develop a suitable contract for delivery and management of the remedial works. We then managed the works on-site with our role incorporating cost and change control, quality inspection and control against agreed quality assurance processes and site health and safety audits.
