Questions to Ask Your Insurance Agent Life is ever changing and because of that your insurance needs to change as well. It doesn't matter if you have a new baby in the house, a new car you just bought, a sudden sickness or anything else in between - your insurance needs to change with all of these changes. If you've been going through some different things and you are wondering about what types of insurance you should have or better yet what protection you need or your family needs, you really need to understand what to ask your insurance agent. Below, are a few questions to ask your insurance agent or insurance broker.

Home Remodeling These days, many people are finally starting to bounce back from the recession and getting back on their feet. In fact, some homeowners are even considering to do some remodeling projects on their home. But, what about home remodeling? Do you need extra or more insurance if you are adding on or expanding your home? IN terms of the actual remodeling on its own, you don't need more insurance, however, you might want to consider more depending on the type of remodel and if you are having someone come in to do the remodel for you ie; a contractor. Not only should your insurance broker be able to suggest what coverage you should have for this activity, but what insurance the contractor should also have.

New Home Based Business Lets be honest if you are a freelance writer or the like, you probably won't need extra insurance if you are working from home. However, if you are doing something like baking at home and selling it online, making prints up, or selling on a site like Etsy, you might need extra insurance coverage. It really depends on the type of home based business you have and what it involves. Growing and Changing Family Chances are when you met your insurer you were either single, just married or had your first child on the way, but things change over time - you may have just gotten married or have a new baby on the way and you've started to think about things like life insurance. How important is life insurance? Who does it benefit? What kind of coverage should you get? Another thing to consider about growing and changing families are teenage drivers. If you have a teenager that is just learning to drive or got their permit, you absolutely need to think about getting car insurance!

No Experience - Starting Fresh

If you are a student, just graduated from college, or you are just starting a job are there types of insurance policies you should consider? It depends on. If you've moved out of mom and dads house or the school dorm and you are renting your own place, you might want to think about renters insurance. This type of insurance will cover insurance on things you own inside of the apartment in case of something like theft for instance. Maybe you just bought a new car after graduating because at your new job its too far away for a bus or a taxi. If you are a new driver or have a car, you need to think about car insurance. As you can see from above, almost anyone can use or benefit from insurance, but before doing so you need to find an agent that you trust; someone that has your best interest at heart, someone knowledgeable, and someone that can answer any questions or concerns you may be having about any or all of the insurance policies above. Not only should you

not be scared to ask your insurance agent these questions above, but if you are in the process of finding an agent, these are also questions you can consider asking them too.
