Scotland is a beautiful country, filled with tonnes of history, picturesque rolling hills and stunning architecture. The history of Scotland is fascinating and complex; there are Roman soldiers, Vikings, noble clansmen and powerful monarchs, but more recently there are world-changing discoveries and innovations, groundbreaking technologies and an incredibly progressive society.

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland, people flock to the capital every year from all over the world to enjoy the summer festivals including the Fringe Festival. From the history of the castle to the amazing Michelin-starred restaurants, Edinburgh Zoo with it’s 82acre complex just outside the city and lots of shopping opportunities. There are many different things for you to do depending on your interests, there will always be something that appeals.

Explore further afield into Scotland, visit Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest city that has the greatest concentration of creative industries outside of London. There is incredible historic architecture from the 18th and 19th century which contrasts the beautifully new modern buildings as the city keeps expanding and thriving.

Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park has shaped a wealth of

cultural heritage, myth and folklore and larger than life characters throughout the ages. Within the centre of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, sits Loch Katrine - the main fresh water supply for the city of Glasgow for over 150 years. Queen Victoria famously sailed up the loch in 1869, you can follow in the steps of Royalty by the historic steamship.

THE ROYAL YACHT BRITANNIA

Step aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia, originally launched from John Brown & Company shipyard in Clydebank, Scotland on 16 April, 1953. It served the Royal Family for over 44 years and travelled more than a million miles to become one of the most famous ships in the world.

STIRLING CASTLE

The “Key to the Kingdom”, dominating a vast volcanic rock above the river Forth at the meeting point between Lowlands and Highlands. Its origins are ancient and over the centuries it grew into a Royal residence and a powerful stronghold. Once the home to Mary Queen of Scots and Hames VI and James I. The grounds of the castle hold lots of history and its now one of Scotland’s must see visitor attractions.

On our first full day we make our way to Edinburgh, here we step aboard The Royal Yacht Britannia, we follow in the footsteps of Royalty to discover the heart and soul of the most special of Royal residences.

Later in the day we visit the famous Botanical Gardens, that offer visitors peace and tranquility within the city centre.

Next we enjoy a cruise aboard the ‘Lady of the Lake’ to experience the beauty of Loch Katrine and the magnificent scenery with a cream tea to be enjoyed onboard. From here we continue on to ‘The Key of Scotland’ - Stirling Castle, it offers a dominating view of the surrounding area from it’s impregnable walls.

Explore the delightful 16th century Duntreath House at Blanefield, you will be met by Lady Edmonstone and Sir Archie who will show you around their home and enjoy a morning coffee with some home-baking. Try a little tipple or two at the Glengoyne Whisky Distillery.
