Our boarding point here at Henley-in-Arden offers FREE secure parking in our car park. Toilets and refreshments are available prior to departure. Bakewell & Matlock Bath Fri 12 Apr 2024 We travel first to Bakewell, home of the famous pudding and tarts! Idyllically situated on the banks of the river Wye, explore the town’s mellow stone buildings, medieval five-arched stone bridge and quaint courtyards. In the afternoon we drive on to Matlock Bath, a 19th century spa town. Discover Cromford Mills, stroll along ‘lovers walk’ or take the cable car ride across the valley to the Heights of Abraham.

Our first stop is Bradford–on-Avon, surrounded by beautiful countryside and facing the River Avon, this picturesque town has plenty of character. Enjoy a stroll through the town with its quaint shops and restaurants or take a seat and relax by the river. Enjoy the view from the ancient bridge in the centre of town and see the old weavers’ cottages dotted along the hill. Early afternoon we head to Corsham, a pretty market town with Bath stone buildings and where colourful peacocks roam freely along the cobbled high street, which was used in the BBC’s hit drama Poldark.

There are many ways to enjoy your day, explore the Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge, the Roman Baths and the magnificent Abbey, or perhaps hop on the sightseeing tour bus to discover everything that Bath has to offer.

Brighton Mon 8 Apr 2024 Stylish Brighton has all the ingredients for seaside fun, from the bustling Palace Pier to a walk along the prom. Perhaps take a flight on the i360, which offers an amazing 360 degree view of Brighton. There is also the impressive Royal Pavilion to visit, built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV. Stroll along the quaint lanes and visit the many boutiques and antique shops. Maybe visit Sea Life and see the many creatures from sea turtles to sharks or head to Brighton Marina, the city’s waterfront shopping centre. Here you will find plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can relax and admire the boats. (Admissions not included).

We set down in the centre of Bristol, ideal for exploring. Perhaps visit the Cathedral, Bristol Museum or one of the many shops that the city has to offer. Why not visit Brunel’s SS Great Britain for lunch, or take a trip along the River Avon?

Buxton & The High Peaks Wed 3 Apr 2024 “There is no finer county in England” wrote Jane Austen in Pride and Prejudice, and it is hard to argue with the Queen of romantic fiction. We commence with a visit to the Spa town of Buxton before a scenic afternoon drive over to the Visitors Centre in Castleton.

Canterbury’s UNESCO World Heritage Site is formed by the ancient ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martins Church. The skyline is dominated by the oldest Cathedral in England and the array of modern shops ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Chepstow, Wye Valley & Ross-on-Wye Thu 4 Apr 2024 Lying on the banks of the River Wye, and protected by the 11th century castle, Chepstow was the gateway to the Forest of Dean, with a thriving port, market and shipyards. We carry on through the Wye Valley, pausing at Tintern Abbey, then to Ross-on-Wye where Tudor timbered houses and shops are clustered around the 17th century sandstone Market Hall.

We visit RAF London Museum – located on the former Hendon Aerodrome. In the afternoon we drive through the glorious Shropshire Hills region via Craven Arms to Ludlow, a thriving black and white market town with the finest of medieval ruined castle’s set in the heart of it.

Skipton Market is unique, with a history dating back to medieval times and plays a huge part in the life of the town being located on the main High Street. The picturesque proportions of this Airedale village exude a vintage charm that makes you feel you’ve stepped into another era.

Shropshire Thu 15 Feb 2024 We visit Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest medieval towns set amidst glorious countryside near to the Welsh Borders. Situated on the River Severn, it boasts over 600 listed buildings set amidst picturesque cobbled alleys and squares. Visit the market, browse the stalls and enjoy the atmosphere of this lovely town. In the afternoon we drive via Much Wenlock before travelling down picturesque Wenlock Edge, off the beaten track via Craven Arms to Ludlow, a delightful 900-year old Norman town in the heart of the Marches, perched above the River Teme. We return via Clee Hill, through Cleobury Mortimer and the Wyre Forest.

Stamford Fri 16 Feb 2024 Historic Stamford is a town that is sure to surprise you. Pleasant walks run into the neighbouring bay or up to the tea rooms of the delightful cliff-top Connaught Gardens and of course there’s great shopping too.

Winchester Mon 11 Mar 2024

Torquay is an elegant resort with palm-lined promenades, beautifully manicured gardens and a lively harbour with plenty of attractions and restaurants to offer. As an alternative you can remain on the coach as we continue to the lively seaside town of Paignton. Famous for its long, sandy, paddle friendly waters and a colourful, bustling pier. The town offers a lot more level walking than that of neighbouring Torquay.

An unspoilt cathedral city on the edge of the rolling South Downs, Winchester is England’s ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great. It is well known for its eleventh century Cathedral and for the Great Hall which for over 700 years has housed the mysterious Round Table.

Confirmation of Booking We require payment in full within 7 days of booking. We will then email (or post if you prefer) a confirmation/receipt which is also your ticket for the excursion. If payment is not received within this time, your booking will be cancelled. (Online bookers can print off their confirmation).

Bookings A simple telephone call is all that is needed to secure your place. Bookings for Express Excursions may be made up to 5pm on the last working day before departure. Alternatively, book online at www.johnsonscoaches.co.uk. Pay One Price All Express Excursions have a flat fare of £29 per person. Under 16’s price of £19 per person. Selected Express Excursions have a reduced price of £22 per person. Choose Your Seat Choose where you would like to sit on the coach and we will confirm this when you book your excursion. Your allocated seat number will relate to the plan outlined below. One Boarding Point with Free Parking For a quick start and a smooth end to the day, there is just one boarding point; the car park at our premises near Henley. It is safe, secure, well-lit and you can park all day here FREE OF CHARGE! (Car Parking is at Owners Risk). Directions Our premises are situated one mile north of Henley, on the A3400, travelling towards Birmingham. Upon arrival, enter via the ‘Entrance’ gateway and follow the signs for ‘Express Parking’. For passengers being dropped off and collected later, there is ample space. Post code for satnav users is B95 5QS. Travel in Comfort All coaches used on Express Excursions will be from our top-class touring fleet, equipped with air-conditioning, reclining seats and a toilet.

Methods of Payment Payment can be made via debit/credit card, online or by bank transfer. If paying by cheque, please make cheques payable to ‘Johnsons (Henley) Ltd’. Reductions There are no reductions for Senior Citizens. Cancellation (a) By the company if, due to less than 20 bookings, we are forced to cancel any excursion, we reserve the right to do so up to 2 working days prior to departure. All monies paid by passengers will be refunded and following that, we shall be exempt from further liability. (b) By the passenger you may cancel your booking at any time, however, your fare is non-refundable. Alterations The company reserves the right to alter or cancel any excursion listed in this brochure, or to change the size and specification of vehicle used. On occasion it may be necessary to allocate a vehicle with a larger seating capacity. When this occurs, please be advised that seat numbers may change. Please note admissions to recommended attractions are not included but we would recommend pre-booking where necessary to avoid disappointment. Unaccompanied Children Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult of at least 18 years of age.
