Your 3 Day Break Itinerary Wednesday Our tour commences with a visit to the Poppy Factory at Richmond. Each year 32 million Remembrance poppies and 80,000 wreaths are made here by a dedicated team of 50 people, most of them disabled. Here, on our guided tour of the factory we learn all about poppy and wreath making before we continue on to our hotel for dinner and our 2-night stay. Thursday This morning we visit Hampton Court Palace, the impressive country retreat of King Henry VIII, situated on the banks of the River Thames. Explore some 6 acres of magnificent buildings and surrounding gardens. 2Course hot lunch included. We return to our hotel with time to freshen up before taking our seats for this evening’s spectacular – ‘Beating Retreat’. Beating Retreat concerts have a long tradition dating back to the 1690’s, when the beating of a drum was used to order troops to break off fighting and return to camp as night fell. Today a ‘Beating Retreat’ is an evening military concert with a marching display and usually marks the lowering of the Regimental flag at sunset. Friday Departing our hotel we transfer to the V&A Museum in Central London, where you are free for individual pursuits and sightseeing, returning home in the late afternoon.

After the performance we continue to Derby in time for dinner and our overnight stay. Sunday After breakfast we visit the magnificent National Memorial Arboretum, which comprises 150 acres of trees and 130 memorials of national significance; you can cover as much or as little of the site as you wish. To mark the WW1 Centenary, the Arboretum includes a special trail which incorporates specific memorials, trees and dedications to all those who fell between 1914 and 1918. We return home during the late afternoon
