SUMMER AT HOWELL WOODS Summer at Howell Woods brings longer days, warmer temperatures, and summer camps! This year, we offered 2 camps: Nature Explorers (for ages 8-12) and our newest camp called Outdoor Trekkers (for ages 13-15). Enjoy photos from both Campers enjoying one of their daily truck ride. These rides gave campers a chance to tour the property and socialize.

Campers participated in a variety of nature-themed activities and crafts during camp, including making bird feeders.
Outdoor Trekkers had a chance to take a guided kayak trip down the Neuse River during camp.
In August, we hosted our annual Perseid Meteor Shower CampOut. Participants camped out in our parking lot field for a full night of star gazing. Members of the local Raleigh Astronomy Club brought telescopes for the public to view through.
