Cleveland wins third straight Johnston County Easter Invitational title

Cleveland toppled Midway, 7-4, in the championship game of the Johnston County Easter Invitational at South Johnston during Spring Break to win its third straight tournament title and 11th consecutive game in the event dating back to a first-round loss to Bunn in 2019.

“The championship game was a hard-fought game from both teams,” head coach Jamie Lee said. “Timely hitting was the key to scoring our runs and starting pitcher Jack Dalton made big pitches on the mound when he needed to.”

Dalton got the win, working 4.2 innings while allowing one earned run on a hit and striking out four. Will Hicks provided much of the run support, homering twice and driving in three. Brooks Moore added an RBI and two hits while Zalin Ingram added a two-run double for the Rams.
