Mr. BURTON of Indiana, from the Committee on Government Reform, submitted the following
R E P O R T [To accompany H.R. 2458] [Including cost estimate of the Congressional Budget Office]
The Committee on Government Reform, to whom was referred the bill (H.R. 2458) to enhance the management and promotion of electronic Government services and processes by establishing a Federal Chief Information Officer within the Office of Management and Budget, and by establishing a broad framework of measures that require using Internet-based information technology to enhance citizen access to Government information and services, and for other purposes, having considered the same, report favorably thereon with an amendment and recommend that the bill as amended do pass. The amendment is as follows: Strike all after the enacting clause and insert the following: SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE; TABLE OF CONTENTS.
(a) SHORT TITLE.—This Act may be cited as the ‘‘E-Government Act of 2002’’. (b) TABLE OF CONTENTS.—The table of contents for this Act is as follows: Sec. 1. Short title; table of contents. Sec. 2.
