Like the game of Rock/Paper/Scissors, there are no real winners; only victims who feel crushed, cut, or covered by the process – or ominously empowered by it. What is the solution? To quit playing the game altogether! How? By recognising and repenting of the game-playing. God does not “play the game” – indeed, control is not in Him at all. Through Him, humans can be transformed until the game of control gives way to a life of mutual submission – the “dance” of relationship rather than the dissonance of control.
