What is an Automag Filter? •

“Automag is the latest generation of magnetic filtration .

The Automag units are for use in high flow rate applications in full production environments.

Used on either individual applications or providing protection on centralised systems.

Provide sub-micron filtration levels with minimal pressure drop, fluid loss, environmental impact & running costs

Where Filtration is required to have automatic cleaning.

How does it work? Operational cycle The magnet elements capture the ferrous particulate as the flow passes through the filter an continues in production as a pure and clean filtered fluid.


How does it work? Patented Flow Path The flow enters the filter body at low level and travels up the first set of cores. The fluid passes over a weir plate and then down through another set of magnets. This increases the length of the flow of the fluid in the magnetic field ensuring total filtration is made. The design also ensures quick and effective purging of the particulate on the cleaning cycle.


How does it work? Purge cycle When a signal is received the purge valves change the outlet flow as the magnets are withdrawn. The flow of fluid purges the contamination from the tube surface and is directed into the holding tank/hopper. The magnets are then replaced and the purge valves return the fluid flow to the system.

The entire purge is complete in less than 10 seconds!

Process Flow What happens with the purged contaminants Recycled coolant/fluid will flow back to the original system. Some installations are supplied to take the contaminated fluid back to either the dirty tank, existing filter or feed to a settling tank.

Complete controlled system We recommend that the purged fluid is fed to a hopper , this is then passed through a fluid recovery system in a controlled manner. (includes a high intensity coolant roll to separate the metal contamination into a collection bin. The ’cleaned’ coolant from the purge is fed back to the dirty tank and This system can be supplied by Eclipse Magnetics in a Skid Package.
