1.2
Basic requirements for safe working practices Before using the accu for the first time, ensure that you have carefully read and understood the operating instructions. Failure to observe the instructions below may result in fire and serious injuries.
CAUTION! Electrical safety ➔ Do not open the accu. Acid causes injury. ➔ Do not modify the accu structurally. ➔ Operate the accu in dry, enclosed rooms only. ➔ Protect the accu from moisture and rain. ➔ Never operate the accu under unsuitable ambient conditions (e.g. where combustible gases, solvents, dust, vapors or moisture is present). ➔ Do not operate the accu if the housing or contacts are damaged. ➔ Follow the safety instructions printed on the accu and charger. Work area ➔ Ensure that there is enough space in the work area. ➔ Keep the work area clean and dry.

Charging the accu
3
Charging the accu Accu is only partly charged when delivered. ➔ Fully charge before first use.
WARNING! Overheating or leakage of corrosive liquid from the accu can occur when using incorrect chargers or accus. ➔ Use only original CLECO chargers. They are optimal adapted to this accu.
NOTE With proper use, the accu can be charged at least 800 (60 % capacity) times. Here, the following is important: ➔ Accu charging temperature: 0 °C to +40 °C (+32 °F to +104 °F) ➔ Follow the safety instructions printed on the accu and charger. ➔ Fully charge new accus or those not used for a long time. ➔ Do not totally discharge the accu (< 17.5 V). ➔ Protect the accu from impact. ➔ Keep the charger and accu contacts clean and dry. ➔ Protect the accu from moisture. ➔ The accu can remain in the charger when not in use: the self-discharging is very low. ➔ Replace used accus and recycle them (see 9 Disposal, page 8.)
4
Replacing the accu Inserting the accu ➔ Insert the accu into the tool guide until the catches securely engage.

Troubleshooting Problem
Possible cause
Action
Could not reach the expected number of rundowns with one battery charge.
Battery is not fully charged.
¾
Use only fully charged batteries.
Low voltage warning is not set to minimum value.
¾
In the Tool Setup screen of the controller, set the value for Low Level to 17.5 Volts.
During tightening sequence, high torque is required, for example with coated screws.
If high torque is required for a longer period of time, e.g. for several turns, then the number of rundowns with one battery charge is significantly reduced.
Battery has already cycled too often.
After 800 charge cycles the capacity is reduced to about 60%.
Accu defective

Battery charger shows Error accu
6
Replace accu.
Maintenance ➔ Keep the contacts of the accu and the accu free of contamination. Only in this way is proper function of the accu guaranteed.
7
Service
NOTE If repair is required, send the complete accu to Cooper Power Tools. It may be repaired only by authorized technicians. Opening the accu will void the warranty.
