Men's League

A great way to meet fellow members, random pairings are done each week.

All Starts: 5:30pm Shotgun 9 Holes

Opening Day: April 15th

League Ends: July 22nd

League Fee: $50

FORMAT

There will be a different format each week based on team or partner basis. Individual points will accumulate throughout the season. Each player will count their best 12 point totals out of 16 for the season.

PRESIDENT'S CUP

Round 1: April 27

Round 2: May 3rd

Rounds 3 and 4: Matches scheduled on your own Finals: Mutually Agreeable Date

Two-man team competition playing match play against another team. Qualifying score will be the best of 2 (best ball) scores. 2024 Champion automatically receives #1 seed. The top 15 Qualifiers and the 2024 Champions will make up the Championship Bracket. The next 16 Qualifiers will make up the Consolation Bracket. Match deadlines are listed on the Golf Calendar. Sign up on the bulletin board. Each match is scheduled by the players.

HAVILAND CUP | May 17-18

MGCC’s Stroke Play Championship. 36 holes of stroke play (gross) will be used to determine the Champion. The field will be flighted according to handicap Gross and Net prizes will be awarded within each flight Sign up on the bulletin board. Professional staff will make pairings and tee times.

MEMORIAL DAY TOURNAMENT | May 26

Gross and Net stroke play tournament. Make your own pairings like a normal weekend. Sign up at the counter the day of the event.

TWO-MAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP | June 28

Pick your own partner. Holes 1-6 Scramble. Holes 7-12 Best Ball. Holes 13-18 Alternate Shot. Make your own pairings like a normal weekend. Sign up at the counter the day of the event.

FOURTH OF JULY TOURNAMENT | July 4

Gross and Net stroke play tournament. Make your own pairings like a normal weekend. Sign up at the counter the day of the event.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP | July 12, 13, 19, 20, 26

MGCC’s Club Championship. A qualifier will be used to determine the Championship flight. The defending champion will receive the #1 seed. The top 15 qualifiers will compete to determine the Club Champion. The field will be flighted according to handicap. All play will be played using gross scores within each flight. Sign up on the bulletin board. Professional staff will make pairings and tee times.

LABOR DAY TOURNAMENT | September 1

Gross and Net stroke play tournament. Make your own pairings like a normal weekend. Sign up at the counter the day of the event.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REVENGE | November 15

Gross and Net stroke play tournament. The Superintendent’s chance to get revenge by setting up the course as difficult as possible. Make your own pairings like a normal weekend. Sign up at the counter the day of the event.

FIVE (5) BREAKFAST TOURNAMENTS | April 19, May 10, June 22, August 10, October 26

7:30 Breakfast / 9:00 Shotgun Start. Sign up on the bulletin board; professional staff will make the teams. Each Breakfast Tournament will feature a different format

We are proud to offer members league opportunities that will help them enjoy the game in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The Women's Golf Leagues are sociable and invite women of all abilities to join.

Ladies' MacPhail Cup

FORMAT AND RULES

Teams will be comprised of 2 MGCC members. Each player must have a current handicap at MGCC. The team’s best ball net score will be played against an opponent’s best ball net score in match play format. Play will be from the Silver Tee markers. All matches will be single elimination. Seeding will be a random draw. Once the brackets are made, you may not change your partner. In the event of a scheduling conflict, the team that is available to play on the final day of the current round at 12:00pm will be declared the winner.

Golf Policies

FULL GOLF MEMBERSHIP (UNLIMITED) TEE TIMES

·Each Full Golf Membership is entitled to have one (1) designated adult player for preferred tee times (Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays)

·A designated player may change from day to day.

·Family responsibility is to work out the designated player. Failure to abide by the rules will be challenged by the golf staff and/or Golf Committee.

ACTIVE SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP TEE TIMES (WITH GREENS FEE)

·Tee times may be scheduled anytime throughout the week

·Tee times may be scheduled on weekends and holidays after 10:00 am Open morning times may be scheduled beginning Friday at 10:00 am

·Active Social members can play two (2) times per month Playing only nine holes, whether in a T G I F event or not, counts as one allowance

Eligibility for Tournaments:

·Any T G I F events only (with payment of green fees, cart fee, and tournament entry )

TEE TIME POLICY

Preferred tee times are defined as 7:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays (except as modified by special events or the Golf Committee).

Guests, accompanied by members, are eligible for tee times beginning at 10:00 am on weekends and holidays. Open morning times may be scheduled beginning Friday at 12:00 pm.

Local guests may play twice a calendar month with payment of greens fees.

Director of Golf will consider all tee time requests but has the flexibility to manage tee times to optimize course utilization, play, and enjoyment of the membership.

Utilization of cross-over tee time schedules, as well as the hours of preferred tee times, will remain the business of the Golf Committee. All play will begin on the first tee unless professional staff permits to do otherwise.

Everyone must register in the Golf Shop prior to play.

Golf Policies

GOLF CART ETIQUETTE

·No more than two (2) people are permitted in a golf cart at one time.

·Unlicensed children are not permitted to drive carts.

·Carts must be kept thirty (30) feet from greens and bunkers.

·Use cart paths where available and obey cart restrictions for that day.

·Keep carts on paths for all par three holes.

·Carts must be kept on the confines of the Club property.

·Upon request, blue flags will be issued to those with disabilities.

·Pull carts are subject to the same rules as motorized carts.

·Golfers must use MGCC carts while playing golf.

GOLF COURSE COURTESY

The pace of play:

1) Keep up with the group in front of you at all times.

2) If a hole opens in front of you, invite the players behind you to play through.

3) Play "Ready Golf."

·Golfers stopping for lunch after nine (9) holes will lose their place on the course and may have to start again on the first tee at the next available tee time.

·Each golfer must have his/her own clubs and bag.

·Parents are responsible for their children's adherence to the golf rules.

·Replace/sand all divots, replace ball marks, and properly rake all bunkers after your shot.

·Place litter in trash receptacles.

·The golf course is reserved for golfers. Jogging, walking, cycling, dog walking, and activities other than golf are not permitted.

·No "5-somes" will be allowed.

MGCC GOLF PROFESSIONALS TEACHING NON-MEMBERS

·MGCC golf staff professionals may teach non-members only when there is no conflict with member driving range utilization.

·Clinics involving non-members should also be open to members only when there is no conflict with member practice area utilization and when approved by BOG.
