DIALECTICAL [UN]CANNY PROJECT
[concept] Spatial phobias are the absolute extreme in our perception of rational and irrational. The moments in the city or spatial triggers have embedded and coded potentiality to be unravelled through architectural discourse. From the phobia construct the emerging need of an archival typology is becoming unavoidable. As the synthesis, a proposal of non-directional and dynamic phobia archive is understood in a more poetic and[or] conceptual sense. Therefore, the project gets embedded and framed around sequential and also perversed scattered way. But organized by spatial accumulations and situations. The overall image of the building is seen as a sequential experience within its construct and context.
[context] This is the MSc graduation project. The project consists of several parts[research and a project] which took place in Yerevan, Armenia. The project is seen as a synthesis of a research part about the [un]canny moments within our built environment and realm of architecture. Research part was developed into mappings, essay and experimental models. The project was a logical outcome which puts a focus on a archival typology and how one approaches architectural structures.

WELLNESS CENTER AND A MARITIME HOTEL
[concept] The aim of the SEA THERAPY CENTER is to create a multifunctional SPA and swimming pool oriented building. One of main requirements is to have the completely different typology inside the building, which includes sports activities, swimming pools, restaurant, hotel and public use. Also, the building is located in a unique place, therefore the nature should be highly respected. So the whole volume is divided into levels, depending on their function also adding plazzas in order to distribute visitors. The concept of this project is to open up and have as much nature bonuses as possible and in the same way to have fully funcioning complex building along with Maritime museum and dolphinarium .
[context] This is the BSc graduation project and also a competition project organised by the union of Klaipeda city architects. The nature is a major factor to the site as project area is surrounded by forest, water and unique geographical situation. The project site location is the gap between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. Near the site there is Sea gate, a Dolphinarium and the Maritime Museum of Klaipeda. Currently, the site is only the canal that is left after the f ishproducing company.

Structural axonometry
[proposal] The main aim of the project is to deal with the SPA, swimming pool, hotel and restaurant structure typology. It requires analytical thinking and perception of the complexity also typology of these functions. The site dictates the form of the building. The canal is half covered with walkable roof, the other part is used as swimming pool Hidroizoliacija Ruloninė stogo danga 20mm Šilumos izoliacija – akmens vata 30mm Šilumos izoliacija – putų polisterolas 200mm Garo izoliacija Išlyginamasis sluoksnis 40mm Nuolydį formuojantis sluoksnis Monolitinė plokštė 200mm Apdaila – tinkas 15mm
and decorative canal(prime function). Restaurant and hotel facilities are in lifted volume. Urban background dictates that the form should be oval(only existing buildings nearby). It is usefull for both: form and function as it unveals the beauty of the landscape, lso it does not become dominant component of the site

Detailed entrance to the embassy
DISTRUBUTION OF THE LAND, DIALOGUE OF THE PUBLIC
[concept] By law the embassy and it’s site becomes the property of the following one. Therefore, the project puts this devision of the land and a paradox in the main field of the concept. The site’s land is excavated and devided by several layers of underground. The realm of the public and private becomes shifted by simple architectonic motifs and notions. The middle cube typology is the embassy and what is around is simply and architectural dialogue of what is Russia and what is Romania and where architecture stands in this situation?
[context] This is the research and design project of the first year of the Masters programme at TU Delft. The project was set in Bucharest Romania and was followed by the excursion to the site and group research work on the topic of the law and force structures. The public building studio’s research is based about border conditions. The project site was chosen in a northen part of Bucharest where the land is overcoming from industry towards the new business areas.

HEADQUARTERS OF THE POLICE SPECIAL PRIZE AWARD
[concept] The aim of the POLICE STATION 2020 competition is to create a multifunctional police station in the strategical place of the city. As one of the main requirements to project was to have a different security and function parking lots for employees and visitors. The other motive is to have completely different typology inside the building, which includes sports activities, custody, operating offices and etc. So the whole volume is lifted up from the one side. The concept of this building is that the more the building is lifted the more secluded and more private the offices are and vice versa towards the ground level part.
[context] This is the competition project organised by Vilnius Gediminas technical university Architecture department and Police department of Vilnius city. The project is set in he outskirts of the capital city of Lithuania in the Karoliniskes district. Site is characterized with a natural motive a forest in the North of the site. In addition site has well developed infrastructure as there is a runabout of highway in the north of the site and also is well connected to other districts of the town. This allows the creation of strategical police station.

MIXED-USE BUILDING INTERNSHIP PROJECT [LOCATION] KAUNAS, LITHUANIA [PROJECT] MIXED USE BUILDING [TYPE] ARCHITECURAL PRACTISE [DURATION] 2015-2016 [TEAM LEADER] GINTARAS PLATUKIS
32
[concept] The aim of the project was to optimize the functionality of the building towards the developers idea of the building. Both strategically and aesthetically. Building is planned on a steep ascent of the riverbank hill. Therefore, this was used to take advantage of and install the semiclosed parking lot. The entrace is created by using the peak point of the landscape and is devided into two parts. Each part resembles the devided functions. One entrance is a lift and a small space to upper floor offices. The other, guided through the row of plants and a balcony towards the dental clinic office. The separation is created by aquiring and adding the architectural elements to guide the visitor. Also, important part is that the parking is made in such way that all the users could come towards their destination without collision into each other. [contribution]With several design workshops the team came to this design option which fullfiled the developers needs and aquired building permit after the technical drawings were made.
OFFICE BUILDING WITH DENTAL CLINIC AQUIRED BUILDING PERMIT SINCE 2016 [context] A brief in this internship project included a mixed typology for offices and a dental clinic. Also, the task was to instal comfortable parking[more than legislations require]. While the site was relatively small the decision to do a semi-closed parking was approved by the project team.

SCHOOL CONVERSION INTO A HOTEL ORGANIZED BY UTENA CITY MUNICIPALITY
[concept] The main aim of this latest project is to convert unused old school building into a hotel in Utena. First thing is to preserve old buildings and develope them into a complex which connects not only the districts but also a walkable public spaces of the site. Since the urban background was destroyed during some time it is a great oppourtunity to add new volume in order to renew the long lost morphology and density which once was in the site. The inner structure is organised in a way to preserve its first purpose: to serve the young people. Therefore, the youth hostel is installed in what previously were the classrooms. The devision of the project happens where old meets new. Not only with the outter public space guidance but also with the facilities. The new shifted volume presents the new and accomodotes the more luxury part of the hotel.
[context]This project is set in the downtown complex district which is characterised with the strong natural motive a park and a river in the West. In addition, it has well developed infrastructure as it borders with the main town street Basanvicius av. thus alowing to create a good connection between the natural axes(parks, public spaces) and other districts of town. The main routes of the city is just around the corner of the site.

FOOD CENTER DISTRICT URBAN DESIGN PROJECT [context] The are is situated in the district called Centrale Markt. It can be described as heavily industrialized part of the city. However, it no longer fit the markethale district needs and qualities due to changing lifestyle; there are already companies considered moving out. Despite the critical approach, there are still bussines which existense ultimately depends on Central Markethall, therefore it is unable to change its location. Consequently, Central Markethall are has a high potential for a vast changing in terms of hosting people and also to attract them for new functions.
[concept] The main aim is to make a smooth transition between mixed-use, residential and idustry district allowing the are to be as open to everyone as possible. Additionaly, to make the remaining Markethall area fit for public needs. The area is based on some principles starting with conecting not only green spaces in the district but all infrastructure with other districts in order not to be isolated from other. As the main axis going from South to North so does the typology of the new buildings creating three plazas near the main dominant the Markethall and also afecting the types of the buildings. The frame is that residential areas are being created near the canals in order to get the best view for inhabitants. The comercial zones are just around the main infrastructure points, and the oce and mixed use typology structures are on the most lively places on the axes. [contribution] My contribution to project: I have joined all parts of the project, focusing on the axometry, drawing of masterplan and space urban quality visualisations, schemes and model(partly).
