The archaist is condemned, by the very nature of his enterprise, to be for ever tryin to reconcile past and present…. If he tries to restore the past without takin the present into consideration, then the impetus of life ever movin onward will shatter his brittle construction into fragments. I have blue eyes and according to the Blue-eyed Genealogy Study, anyone else who has blue eyes is related to me. The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Copenhagen headed the study that stated in a January 2008 press release, that blue eyes are linked to a genetic mutation that happened between 6,000 to 10,000 years ago. The team, headed by Professor Hans Eiberg, studied 155 individuals out of a Danish family and several blue-eyed people born in Turkey and Jordan. According to the study, because 97% of the blue-eyed people they tested had the same set of 13 SNP mutations in two particular genes in their chromosome 15, they are all descendants of one person. The team that claim if the mutation had happened at random in different populations around the world, the segment of DNA affected would have tested differently on the studied participants. What this Blue-eyed Genealogy Study is simply saying is that around 6 to 10 thousand years ago, this mutation happened only once and to only one person, who in turn created all the blue-eyed individuals you see today. The Blue-eyed Genealogy Study can bring up concerns for some individual such as paternity. Couples may question why it is they have given birth to a brown eyed child when they were both blue eyed, or visa versa, a couple has brown eyes and bears a blue-eyed child. Rest assured that it does not automatically mean someone was unfaithful, but it could cause doubt if one did not know the basics of DNA and dominant and recessive genes. It is common for two brown-eyed people to have a blue-eyed child as well as two blue-eyed individuals to have a brown-eyed child. According to the findings of the study, that would make anyone who marries another person with blue eyes genetically related. This may cause someone to question his or her future mate. However, according to the Bible, we are all from Adam and Eve anyhow, meaning we are all related anyway. The study also states that in the beginning of time there were only brown-eyed people. This study

really throws a kink into the Aryan Nations and Nordic mythology idea that the fair-skinned, blonde-haired, and blue eyed individual as being the superior original race. Could the Blue-eyed Genealogy Study effect how the Nordic communities feel when any of their followers give birth to a beautiful brown-eyed baby. Nordicism belief is that only white, blonde haired, blued eyed, Northern European people are genetically superior to all other races in the world. Could the study change Nordicisms' way of thinking that blue eyes are a superior genetic trait when in fact they are a result of a mutation. Green eyes are the rarest of eye colors with only 1 to 2% of the world's population having true green eyes but blue eyes according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology are only present in 32% of the white American population. Regardless if you are blue, brown, green, hazel, or any other eye color, does not deem one better then another. According to the Blue-eyed Genealogy Study, it is just natural process of nature mixing up the chromosomes and giving us a bit of a fashion change from time to time.
