CONTEXT / Takeaways from Analysis
1. Ground floor elevations at the street level have a higher percentage of glazing and are taller than upper floors, which are relatively repetitive. 2. Depth and texture is created through material expression, transitions, and windows recessed within the facade.
5. Horizontal bay patterns vary, but are regular with exceptions at main entry conditions. 6. Expression of a cornice line reinforces how buildings meet the sky. 7. Solutions should take cues from context but avoid mimicking a historic style.
3. Strong street walls running for a full block 8. The facade approach should reinforce are desirable but often interrupted by more sustainable design goals by creating a quality recent, one-story buildings. work environment with good natural light and mitigation of solar gain and glare. 4. With few exceptions of major civic buildings, the street wall is close to the curb with a narrow sidewalk and line of trees.

DESIGN / Strategies
1. Look carefully at the macro and micro context of the existing site. 2. Through this analysis, establish ground rules for the project and how you will engage the context. 3. Leverage these ground rules to develop design iterations that build upon one another in response to owner, user, and community feedback. 4. These strategies give you a framework to explain the project logic, contextual response, and design approach.
