Creative Writing: 10/12 weeks @ 2 hours per week Can be run as a 1 or 2 day workshop
10-12 weeks via email 8-10 students max An introduction to creative writing. Each week, a theme is given to the group and is worked on during each class, with readings of work done, discussions around what works and what doesn’t and suggestions to improve or encouragement on what works. Examples of projects include: providing the first line of a story and the group then takes this and works through it in their own way to show how we each have a unique story to tell, restricting each student to telling a story in 140 characters of less (including spaces!), play the game where each person has a line to write on a story but isn’t aware of what otter’s have written - leading to several unique storylines and ideas generated. I am keen to have something at the end of this programme, so would investigate how we could possibly publish an e-book anthology of the work done, with any proceeds going back to either the Angel Centre or other charities? This needs some thinking about and it may simply be an exhibition of the work done with each piece typed and framed and on display in a bookshop or library. Projector/screen/wifi would be good but not essential.

This is getting increasingly hard in todays world, both personally and professionally smart phones link us 24/7, wearable tech makes things even more difficult to switch off and take a step back. Minimalism for Beginners: 10/12 weeks @ 2 hours per week Can be run as a 1 or 2 day workshop
10-12 weeks via email
Minimalism is a bit of a trendy buzzword right now with phrases being bandied about relating to having less but doing more, and having experiences rather than possessions - but minimalism links to far more than just having less. Owning less means spending less, owning less means less time taken to look after your possessions, owning less means less impact on our planet. This
course will look at the ways you can make the most of what you have, including some tips your granny might recognise to save time, improve your quality of life and give your eco-consciousness a boost. Alongside these benefits, you’ll have less clutter, maybe a little more cash and a chance not improve your relationships with friends and family with the extra time you now have.
General: All courses are available as face-to-face courses over 1 or 2 full days, depending on your needs. I can alter the content to cover what you need, over the period of time you have available.
I also offer the courses as 2 hour face-to-face courses over 10-12 weeks. This is usually done in conjunction with a provider or venue such as colleges or adult education centres - but I am flexible and happy to discuss details delivering these to community groups or businesses.
I am now also able to offer the course remotely via email. Once a week, students receive an email containing projects, tips, techniques, notes and support. We then have an exchange of emails or calls regarding this to complete projects and build a body of work and ensure the student understands and is happy with the tasks. Each week will offer some new learning and build on the previous weeks email.
Further details and costs available on request.
