Creative Writing: 10/12 weeks @ 2 hours per week
Can be run as a 1 or 2 day workshop

10-12 weeks via email
 8-10 students max
An introduction to creative writing. Each week, a theme is given to the group and is worked on during each class, with readings of work done, discussions around what works and what doesn’t and suggestions to improve or encouragement on what works.
Examples of projects include: providing the first line of a story and the group then takes this and works through it in their own way to show how we each have a unique story to tell, restricting each student to telling a story in 140 characters of less (including spaces!), play the game where each person has a line to write on a story but isn’t aware of what otter’s have written - leading to several unique storylines and ideas generated. I am keen to have something at the end of this programme, so would investigate how we could possibly publish an e-book anthology of the work done, with any proceeds going back to either the Angel Centre or other charities? This needs some thinking about and it may simply be an exhibition of the work done with each piece typed and framed and on display in a bookshop or library.
Projector/screen/wifi would be good but not essential.

Art for beginners: 10/12 weeks @ 2 hours per week
Can be run as a 1 or 2 day workshop

10-12 weeks via email
 10-12 students
An introduction to practical art. Each week students are introduced to a different theme and/or artistic medium, exploring landscape, still life, drawing and painting from life and using acrylic paint, pencil, pen and ink, etc to investigate given and suggested themes. This could lay the groundwork for each student to them move on to either study specific mediums (watercolour, etc) or the encouragement to work solo. Working with each student to ensure they find a way of working they enjoy - I am a firm believer that everyone has some form of creative outlet and it's simply a case of find that, be it mixed media or collage, pens or pencils. The aim would be to hold a local exhibition at the end of each course - venue to be agreed/sourced by myself.
Projector/screen/wifi would be good but not essential.

Craft for beginners: 10/12 weeks @ 2 hours per week
Can be run as a 1 or 2 day workshop

10-12 weeks via email
 10-12 students
An introduction to creative crafting. Each week, students would be introduced to a different crating technique via a set project to enable them to try a variety of techniques, exploring patchwork, making simply felt toys, various ways to create handmade cards with the ultimate aim being to find each student a creative outlet that is enjoyable and affordable. We would also cover simple online selling options such as Easy or Folksy as potential ways to create income, alongside craft fairs.
Projector/screen/wifi would be good but not essential.
