The engine block of the 2.7L EcoBoost consists of compacted graphic iron, the same material used in the proven engine block of the 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 turbo diesel. Like the 3.5L EcoBoost, the 2.7L is tuned specifically for truck applications — and features a lightweight compact design — to deliver an impressive combination of power, capability and efficiency.
