lobalization seems to be a reoccurring theme in almost every aspect of fashion and design recently. With growing economies in Asia, Europe, and South America, the global community is becoming more and more integrated and less diverse.

ANGLO/INDIA The Anglo/Americana aesthetic is beginning to incorporate color palates, fabrics, and designs found in traditional Indian dress. As menswear evolves and becomes less inhibited than has been in over a century, it’s global effect is absolutely perfect and more than appropriate for this summer and future seasons. Lightweight blends of cotton and lenin make layering in tropical and subtropical climates a little more bearable, therefore allowing the modern gentleman maintain his unique sense of style.

ften a taboo just a decade ago, it has become more and more socially acceptable to find bold pinks, fuchsias, and violets in menswear. The color that will be making it’s way from womenswear to menswear will be coral. This perfect blend of red, orange, and pink pair well with bronze tans and is easily incorporated into any wardrobe. Now that the advent of “day glow“ is being stuffed back into it’s Pandora’s Box of the 80’s we can finally take off our shades to enjoy the softer tones of the visual spectrum. The incorporation of coral seems to instantly bring life to a tired look and puts a happy pep in your step.

he Seattle rapper is making a splash in every PR outlet possible. Macklemore is a proud ally for equal rights and the poster boy for thrift-shoppers nation wide. The North-Western rapper is also the poster boy for the ever-growing “thrift shop/hipster“ trend that is taking the nation’s youth by storm. I understand that we should all take more environmentally friendly choices in our daily lives but somethings need to die. In fact, it is the inevitable truth for every living thing on this planet. It is great to preserve classic garments of quality like the recent dresses from the roaring 20’s but please bury that ill fitting flannel blazer with grandpa and cremate those one-piece pajamas with the feet attached - you are not 8 years old and we do not need to see this in public.

SIZE MATTERS:

SHORT IS SEXY 05/19/13

ho loves short shorts? I love short shorts (and so does Richard Simmons)! Throw away all preconceptions of what was known as formal wear for men. Not only does pairing shorts with a button-up, tie, and oxfords amp up your style and give you so much relief on those hot summer days at weddings and showers, but you will also be able to show off those legs you’ve worked so hard to get/maintain after the winter holidays. Forget those baggy cargo shorts in the mall and look for more flattering and fitted shorts that have a 5 to 7 inch inseam (depending on your level of modesty). Explore and conquer new territories. You will definitely enjoy the summer more when you’re dressed comfortably, yet stylish, and be the envy of your friends. But always remember: you’re never fully dressed without a smile. (That’s what sets in the charm.)
