ITALIAN COFFEE
On my adventure to Italy, I decided to drink as much coffee as I could while I was there. I also tend to judge a city by its coffee when I travel. So, this book is me doing just that. Jordan Clarke
SAN COSIMATO CAFFÉ Piazza di S. Cosimato, Rome, Lazio This was the first coffee I had in Italy. I had both a cappuccino and macchiato within 5 mins of each other. Each was amazing. Probably because I was extremely exhausted from flying through the night and could feel the life returning to me as I drink the first few sips, so that may have clouded my judgment, but I still think it was amazing. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk Macchiato espresso + small amount of foamed milk
CAFFÉ PICCAROZZI Piazza della Repubblica, 62, 00184 Roma, Italy I drank this americano after not sleeping for over 30 hours, so yes, it was everything. I give it many stars because it is literally was what kept me going for the rest of the day. Americano espresso + hot water
GALLERIA BORGHESE CAFFÉ Piazzale del Museo Borghese, 5, 00197 Roma, Italy This café is located in the Borghese and is a good stop for a coffee just after exploring the museum. The coffee itself was pretty average and it was busy in the café at the time because it was right where everyone came out of the museum. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
REST STOP COFFEE Somewhere between Rome and Pompeii, Italy It was good coffee for a rest stop/gas station cafĂŠ. Pretty average, but I liked it enough to go back for a second cup. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
BAR GIACOMELLI Via Della Conciliazione, 41-B Roma The coffee was pretty good. It was a cute little bar that had an old school diner feel to it. I suggest grabbing a coffee to go and sitting outside on the street steps and people watching. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
BAR Via della Conciliazione, Rome Just a couple doors down from the Bar Giacomelli, this coffee was okay. Not the best I had, but it satisfied the coffee craving. Not really a great spot to hang inside. Again, I would suggest getting the coffee to go and walking around or sitting outside. Latte espresso + hot steamed milk
ANTICO CAFFÉ DEL BRASILE Via dei Serpenti, 23, 00184 Roma, Italy This shop was located in a cute part of town. The coffee was good and so were the pastries. It was great to grab a coffee and explore this part of town. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
TRAIN COFFEE Somewhere between Rome and Florence, Italy JUST NEVER BUY COFFEE ON A TRAIN. IT SUCKS AND IT’S EXPENSIVE IF YOU DON’T SPEAK ITALIAN. Train Coffee dirt + more dirt
A CASA CAFFÉ Via della Spada, 47/red, 50123 Firenze, Italy This coffee was really good. The shop itself was really cute too. I would totally go back, drink more coffee, and hang there. Latte espresso + hot steamed milk
DITTA ARTIGIANALE Via dei Neri, 32/R, 50122 Firenze, Italy I can’t talk this coffee shop up enough. It was my favorite we found in all of Italy and it was by far the best coffee I had on the whole trip. We went there multiple times. Great atmosphere and amazing coffee. Flat White double shot of espresso + micro-foamed milk
CAFFETTERIA BARTOLINI Piazzale degli Uffizi, 6, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy This coffee was pretty good, especially for being from the cafeteria in the museum. It was a nice place to sit and take a break from walking around. At the time, we needed a little pick me up and this was the perfect spot with good coffee, good pastries, and a beautiful view outside. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
CAFFÉ ACCADEMIA Piazza San Marco N. 4/R Firenze FI, Italy This little shop was in a nice location and the coffee was good. We ordered our coffee and sat outside because the cafÊ itself, inside, is really small. One thing about this shop was that the coffee portions were bigger than most of the other places I had coffee, so that was a win! Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
PASZKOWSKI Piazza della Repubblica, 35 50123 Firenze The coffee here was good, pretty average and comparable to other cappuccinos I had on the trip. The shop itself was beautiful, a great spot to stop and have a snack/coffee. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
CAFFÉ DEI FOSSI Via dei Fossi, 65, Firenze FI, Italy This was really more of a deli than a café. It was fine, I needed coffee at the time so it did the job, but it really wasn’t great. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
GRANCAFE MYCHEF Aeroporto di Firenze, 50127 Firenze It was airport coffee, so it was pretty average. I don’t remember it being anything more than that. Cappuccino espresso + steamed milk + foamed milk
