Generation Z takes the motto #YOLO that much. #YOLO is an acronym for “you only live once”, similar to “carpe diem” meaning “seize the day”. Both saying are implying that one should enjoy their life to their fullest even if it means taking risks as if there are no more chances or opportunities of having it. But Generation Z embrace YOLO mentality that much. They prioritize things that make them happy rather than doing what is needed. Especially with their school works, they would scroll their phones rather than doing their academic works. They would either watch a movie with their friends, rather than studying together for the examinations the next day.
Other Gen Z’s take #YOLO too much to the point they don’t care about if there are rules or not, or they really don’t care about rules-f*** the rules!
According to the studies, Gen z more open to influence and inspiration than other generations. They are deal-driven, and have a passion for activities and bucket list experiences.
“YOLO so f*ck the rules, man.” Gen Z’s don’t care if they would go beyond their limitations. They are too carefree. They would push what they desire or what they want. They will try and try to make the impossible, possible. Even if they know that they are not allowed to do something, they will still do it. Though sometimes curiosity is what leads them to do these things. Stubborn independence is very usual to Gen Zs. Despite wanting stability, this generation, like their millennial predecessors, are practical. They look after personal interests first,
never expecting anyone else to bother because they’ve learned from recent history that it won’t happen. Therefore, they’ll want a greater say in all aspects their jobs. They aren’t afraid of hard work, but will expect to be appreciated for it, and will want to know they won’t be tossed aside at a whim when the road gets rocky.
They are the antithesis of many parts of Generation X who defined success as a good job, a pension, a partner, a family, a nice house in a nice area, nice holidays and a future where you can grow old, retire comfortably and generally have a nice successful life where everything’s dinky doo and pretty safe and stable.
Generation Z don’t give a monkeys about anything of that stuff because in their world, things are here today and gone tomorrow so why ‘keep Sunday best for a Sunday’ – let’s blow the lot now, have some fun, make some memories, travel, experience life, laugh, be happy, break free, live. Today. For the moment.
Tomorrow might not come. They want whatever it is they want, right now. This minute. They don’t want to have to wait, and ponder, and save up and build mild excitement over a long period of time.

Because you could be dead and buried in a week.
The youngest generation is proving to be the most tolerant and the most fluid, as samesex couples and numerous sexual identities are given a platform in newer media and information is becoming increasingly accessible. Baby boomers prove to have the highest percentage, with 88 percent identifying as solely heterosexual, whereas that number drops to 85 percent with Gen X, and 71 percent among millennials, the study says.
With the rise of social media, younger generations find more opportunities to explore their sexualities and gender identities, considering that stories of people who identify in various ways are more accessible than ever before.
Researchers have said that the younger generations are “being affected by more open and fluid attitudes.” The study has labeled Gen Z “the liberal generation” and finds that 10 percent of the generation regards prejudice toward the LGBT community as one of the most pressing issues in the world today, as compared to only 2 percent of Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers who believe the same.
Young people have more popular figures in the media to look up who fall somewhere in between binaries when it comes to sexuality.

NORMAL
“MAYBE SHE IS ABNORMAL BECAUSE SHE IS TOO DARK,
TOO EVIL, AND SHE LIKES DARK HUMOR.”
Some Gen Z’s today are being judged by what they wear, how they look and how they act, since they somehow are showy on who they are or what they truly are.
Goth is someone who finds beauty in things others consider dark. They love all that is dark and mysterious. That doesn’t mean Goths are evil, it just means they have a different perspective to many. And it also doesn’t mean Goths are unkind, violent or lacking in humor, in fact quite the opposite is true. Goths love to laugh but their humor is more of the black comedy sort. They aren’t sad because they like dark things - dark things make them happy and inspire them. Goths are often intelligent, romantic and artistic realists. Being Goth is not about how
one dresses. Goth is not a phase. It is something that you either are or aren’t. There are people who say “Oh, I used to be Goth.” Maybe they used to play the part to fit in for a while - but it is not something you grow out of! One does not just change their likes and dislikes over night.
Generation Z’s does not understand gothic culture because they does not care to subcultures. They care on something that will do good on them, on something that will have advantage on them, or something they like. They does not care on something that will not give them something good or worse, they will avoid something that they think will do them harm — that lead them to judging other people according to what they wear, how they look or their physical appearances.

Generation Z today is fond of wearing of the 90’s. Those high-waisted mom jeans, platform shoes, oversized shirts and sweaters, old school sneakers or something that baggy looking kicks off for a street wear fashion. Colors also play an important role to the fashion today of the Gen Z’s. Some are too colorful to their
wears or some are match what pants or top they would wear. Gen Zs are into a lot of the same fashion trends that 90s kids were into, particularly when it comes to streetwear and athleisure clothing brands. Think Vans and Nike shoes. Think Champion and Tommy Hilfiger tracksuits. Think Gucci’s embrace of colorful “kitsch-baroque” fashion. All of these things were “things” back in the
1990s — and they’re coming back strong in retro-chic flavor with Gen Zers. Today’s fashion is not so much “today’s” once I noticed multiple synchronies with previous decades’ fashion statements. Do you own a tri-colored windbreaker? Maybe an oversized flannel or several graphic tees? These apparel items are key players in today’s outfit trends, and they were carried over from the ‘90s along with straight jeans, bohemian prints and
one-piece bathing suits. After all, the majority of us look through our parents’ closet to find vintage items if they haven’t passed down their favorite items already. Other than fashion, Gen Z seems to have the power to bring anything back. Millennials and older Gen Z social media users have expressed their opinions, asking Gen Z to bring certain trends back. However, we seem to be living past generations out in the present day.
