A PASSION FOR ART & DESIGN Everywhere you look, there is an element of typography and design. As an art student, I found joy in visually communicating with people through these facets and continue this passion in my career. I have been interested in this field from a young age and completed my training in art at the University of Nebraska. I am proud to present work that I have completed during my undergrad studies and in my career for both print & the Web in this portfolio.

ARTIST PUBLICATION andy warhol This brochure is a visual study of work done by Andy Warhol. It features several of his pieces as well as information about his life, artistic style and process. I asked myself, “If Andy designed a brochure of his work, what would it look like? The elements of bright colors, bold typography, and alluring imagery is the basis of the design. I was inspired by other brochures for the intricate fold style and integrated geometric forms.

EVENT PROMOTION mayor’s arts awards I had the privilege of designing all the physical and digital pieces for the 2019 Mayor’s Arts Awards hosted at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The theme of the event was Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, which I used as an anchor for all the pieces I created. The deliverables included a save the date, formal invitation and envelope, remittance pieces, digital images for the slideshow at the event, and a matching image to be display on “The Cube” in the The Railyard.

LOCAL MAGAZINE the foundry magazine The best part of my job is designing our local newsletter in the form of a magazine. I collaborate with content writers, content strategists, and organizations to create these publications. It is sent to people in the Lincoln, NE community every quarter.

FIRST FRIDAY PROMOTION artist work from sculpture to photography Jacht Ad Agency hosted a First Friday art exhibition where we featured pieces from the students, including myself. In collaboration with the agency’s photographer, John, I created a promotional series printed on foam core to display throughout campus. Each poster is different, with the artist on one side and a photo of their work on the other.

INSPIRING PHILATELIC with stamps & screen printing A project centered around female human activists who have changed the world for the better. I used the technique of screen printing to create the portraits, then scanned and used those images in my poster and stamp design. I created a card that could be sent out to people who I have been inspired by. Using the website Zazzle, I put my design on a USPS Stamp to send out the cards. This collection includes the posters seen on the right, postage stamps and the stamp carrier seen on the next pages.

BUILDING A BOX to highlight an inspiring mr. rogers speech Mr. Rogers is at the center of this project. With him in mind, I typeset a excerpt of a speech he gave to the Supreme Court requesting funds for public television. After constructing the box out of wood, I painted it blue and adhered the speech cut out of white vinyl. This box was meant to exist in public places, where curious people would walk around and read it.

AWARDS GALA MATERIALS acec nebraska engineering excellence awards I enjoyed creating materials for ACEC’s awards gala, including a 32 page program, invitations, envelopes, and email graphics. With just a short meeting and few pieces of visual inspiration, I love collaborating with a client to bring their vision to life.

FAMILY REUNION SHIRT castner reunion summer 2017 As the family designer, I always jump at the opportunity to create the reunion shirt. This year was a hit, not only did people love the design, but they loved the shirt I chose to have it printed on. The “Castner word is hand lettered and adds a personal touch to the design. We have been meeting in Keystone, Colorado every three years since 1991.

NONPROFIT CAMPAIGN men with dreams nonprofit The previous team had created the logo and brand standards, my team got to take those designs and integrate them into an updated website, booklet, and social media content. It was a pleasure to work with this nonprofit, they are highly passionate and so excited for the help with marketing. The booklet was created to hand out to potential donors, it explains what the mission of the organization is and how people can help.

EXHIBITION IDENTITY SYSTEM typed: a study of typewriters My passion for typewriters was exhibited in this project. I created a timeline of typewriter history, shown in both a physical presentation and a folded booklet. I combined my collection of typewriters with those of friends and family, then displayed them at several locations along with the timeline.
