GMC Debuts Updated Canyon Mid-Size Pickup for 2021 W ith the 2021 version of the Chevrolet Colorado mid-sized pickup announced at the end of last year, it should come as no surprise that its brother, the GMC Canyon, has done the same here early in 2020. Perhaps the biggest news to come out of the announcement is the addition of the first-ever Canyon AT4, which is a model in the Sierra fullsize lineup that boasts many off-road upgrades. On the outside, the AT4 features a bolder design with a new larger grille and red recovery hooks, while inside features Kalahari stitching and AT4 head restraint embroidery. In terms of the aforementioned off-road upgrades, the Canyon AT4 will benefit from 31-in. Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, offroad tuned suspension with Advanced Hill Descent Control System, and a 4WD system with Eaton G80 Rear Automatic Locking Differential. In addition to the AT4, GMC also revealed upgrades to the Canyon Denali model which will feature a more sculpted and layered pattern on the grille in addition to 5-in. chrome assist steps, signature chrome accents

and Denali-exclusive 20-in. Diamond Cut aluminum wheels. Inside, the Canyon Denali will include authentic open-pore ash wood trim, aluminum décor and unique stitching. Both the AT4 and Denali models are powered by either a best-in-class 308-horsepower 3.6L V6 or a 2.8L Duramax diesel engine that provides 369 lb-ft of torque. The 2021 GMC Canyon will be available later this year with pricing announced closer to production.
