EXPERIENCE Advisory Designer,
IBM Design
July 2014 - Present
During my time at IBM I have held several roles based on needs I continuously uncover through research and sensing. I’ve done user research for IBM Analytics products, led product and service teams, grown a global design thinking facilitation program, and educated and facilitated everyone from marketing VPs to new hire designers, diverse product teams, and sellers in IBM Design Thinking.
Design Thinking Educator & Conference Speaker,
O’Reilly
Feb. 2017 - Present
Content I’ve created for O’Reilly includes an introductory design thinking experience as well as an advanced organizational change and measurement course for the adoption of design thinking at scale.
Design Consultant & Facilitator,
Children’s Community School

For this project I developed specific custom design tools to use in activities wherein the teaching staff sorted their individual responsibilities and built them into strong teaching teams. The tools exposed friction and misunderstandings among groups and allowed teachers to work through their discrepancies.

Our design team worked with the Philadelphia Union Benefit Fund to increase union member enrollment in free educational programs. We conducted research including contextual interviews, visualization of complex data and systems, and facilitated several co-creative design workshops.
Design Researcher & Facilitator,
MENA Design Research Center, Beirut
Jun, 2013
With a team of graduate students I traveled to Lebanon to explore the development of culturally relevant design research tools. We facilitated several local co-creative workshops to generate ideas and then tested and prototyped an interview tool and public installation.
Design Educator & Facilitator,
University of the Arts Pre-College Program
Fall, 2012
My team and I explored the value of design-based learning in an extra-curricular high school environment. We concluded that student interests, coupled with the values of local youth organizations founded in a collaborative design project yielded high participation and engagement.
Infant and Toddler Teacher,
Children’s Discovery Center
Mar, 2010 - Jun, 2012
Curricula development and toy design from an observation-based Reggio-Emilia approach. Not unlike my current design process, I observed and documented classroom patterns and behavior and then designed toys and furniture for the specific needs of our kids and teachers.
