CAPSULE TOWERS IN MADRID IDEA
Capsule Towers try to reintregrate river’s edge into urban tissue with an unified approached mixed-use –private and public- scheme. Both realms are conceives as self-portable concrete blocks in a different arrangement. Private high rise buildings find balance in public landscaped one-storey podium, with both concrete parking and studios blocks buried beneath. CAPSULES
The four towers are shaped by stacked concrete blocks supported by slender steel sheer walls. Each block encloses one highly equipped apartment –kitchen, bathroom, dining and bedroom-. Glazed façade holes in concrete capsules catch the light and face river or mountain range, depending on the direction. At ground level, a one-storey perimeter building contains both concrete parking and studios capsules beneath the landscaped deck. These organized blocks talk to perimeter external streets encouraging people traffic and extending the public realm into the buried surface. ROOF
Entirely free from cars, the vast landscaped deck covers a concrete-shaped podium and embraces the river’s edge greening the banks of the Manzanares. Planting and trees are inserted in the same concrete block language, relating ground floor to passable roof and establishing a tranquil urban oasis. Linked by shaded arcades and accessible throughout the day, the concrete perimeter building adds a further way of living and working to high-rise urban housing.

The diversity of the programme become decisive during the decision-making. INDOOR
The totality of the project is structured along the north-south axis of the plot. The requested spaces follow the main direction and get stacked and enclosed on the north area as they get closer to the street that leads to a current outdoor sport area. Indoor spaces are grouped into three volumes according to their intended function, while specific shared functions remain at the intersected areas as evidence of interrelation. OUTDOOR
Children and sports centre, body care, management areas and spaces for events are housed together under the leitmotif of a healthy and activ life since childhood. The relaxation area opens to the south to allow natural lighting, takind adventage of the open-spaced outdoor sport fields.

CONFERENCE HALL IN VITRA IDEA
Vitra Conference Hall offers a new space to hold world-class corporate events. It is locates in Weil-am Rhein Vitra industrial complex. This very well-known place [it encloses a large number of prestigious architect buildings] provided a freedom creative chance. The concept tries to solve the project with one single concrete bent ribbon, developing three different scheme spaces –auditorium, atrium and service room-. Both simplicity and efficiency are intended to be keys of this self-controlled intervention. INDOOR
The project tries to emphasize the idea of continuity. Reinforced concrete bent ribbon shapes the different rooms allowing movements to flood. Inside and outside spaces are visually and physically connected. The idea has been developed as an outward action, establishing a direct relationship with the company landscape. The atrium, conceived as an exhibition space, is linked to outside public entry. Service realm –toilets and cloakroom- is related to both atrium and auditorium. Auditorium access allows reduced mobility people to freely move. OUTDOOR
The building is dug into its site, creating a hollowed and staggered landscaped public entry. This natural access is conceived to be added to the covered space depending on the activity is taking place. Glaze and concrete façade shows building shape in an architectural sincerity attempt. The concept of continuity leads us to a green trafficable roof, relating the conference hall to Herzog & de Meuron Vitra Haus. AWARD

FUN PALACE, MANZANARES RIVER LOCATION
Fun Palace is located close to historic urban centre, facing Almudena Cathedral and Royal Palace, laying the new contemporary foundations of a determining well-known skyline. One-storey concrete perimeter building take advantage of the plot difference in height to create two differentiate –upper and buried- realms. Larger or shorter sized reinforced concrete sheer walls capsules house different functions. OUTDOOR
Upper realm is linked to Virgen del Puerto Avenue, establishing a direct relationship between river and city. Both square flowers and vegetables gardens are scattered over the concrete perimeter building deck, re-inventing a missing traditional nursery. Auditorium access drives to a large staggered –slighty sunken into river- space to carry out performance activities. Auditorium reinforced concrete fabric supports exhibition room cells. Perimeter podium deck relates to the spaces buried beneath with upper and lower realms connection stairs and lifts. Deck holes allow both rainwater harvesting and skylight flooding ground floor spaces. BURIED
One-storey building access opened means encourage the project complexity. Either stairs or lifts concrete blocks relate the visitor to a single isolated scheme section. The chief entry lead people to buried spaced by crossing an English courtyard encircled by Manzanares river and a line of directional pointing aqua jets. An open air pool enables users to experiment a refreshing experience. Beneath reinforced concrete deck, dozens of detached concrete blocks embraced by framing-activities glazed walls develop the programme –mainly library and studios spaces-. A skylight lit up multi-purpose room allows state-of-the-art performances or activities. There is also a chill out on the river’s edge, providing a new relaxing way of enjoying the river. PROJECT OF AN ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL IDEA
Trying to be limited to a specific place, the school of architecture is conceived as an unfinished project in order to satisfy real requirements and avoid the current over-proliferation of professionals. In this case, the school is set in a high living standards neighborhood in northern Madrid. CONCRETE STRUCTURE
The main element consists of a two-storey 9x9 meter reinforced concrete-grid that colonizes the whole plot in response to the physical landscape, characterized by steep hills and dozens of different sort of trees, which are joined to a concrete column-full ground floor. Distribution cores are set beforehand with a definite use, from educational to residential spaces. GROWTH
Controlled growth is extended from the cores towards concrete-grid limits by steel-grid floors supported by crossed steel beams joined to concrete structure, enabling free enlargement at any time in the future. Sanitation and air-condition systems are able to cross anywhere through steel-grid floors, promoting chased freedom. The final size of each space depends on the real demand. Those spaces are enclosed by glazed faรงade and wooden pieces to both furnish and provide the needed shade. They house state-of-the-art teaching, researching and living places. Introducing open air places as the chief social hub of the campus increase the unlimited possibilities of this school of architecture that remains being a project for years. .

BACKGROUND
LUISEN-GYMNASIUM EN HAMBURGO-BERGEDORF AHRENS GRABENHORST ARCHITEKTEN
Trying to fulfill the increasing demand of students in the Hamburger music-focused Luisen-Gymnasium, both the school management team and the Authority of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg launch a competition to find a solution that aims the right settlement in the Bergedorfer area and a succesful dialog with the current educational buildings. A compact, brick-made project that locates in this low-density suburb not far from the City-State limits is requested. SCHOOL
Keeping the indepence of the music-related building while speaking the same bricked language is intented since the very beginning of the ideation process. The ground floor opens wide to the forest on the north side to house the dining room while a multi-purpose space faces the west side next to the access. Theoretical-destined classrooms are located on the first floor while music-focused spaces are placed on the second floor, providing the orchestra room with natural lighting and breath-taking views over the nature. The faรงade plays with two different types of brick. The darker one follows the line of the glazed, landscaped windows and carries the visitors to the hanseatic picture that Hamburg itself shows pride-full. RELATIONS
A corridor is created between both new and old building to allow both vehicles and people movement. Bicycles are essential to get to the Luisen-Gymnasium, so parking place are mandatory. Further, implicit relations are based on the dimensions of the the old school. Former height is reached by the three-storey, brick-made, new enlargement. 1st Prize. Development in progress

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE, BASILEA IDEA
International Architecture School provides a new educational place to allow both students and teachers develop their skills in a quiet out of breath setting. It is rooted in a marshy plot of land, facing Rhein river and trying to build the boundary between Germany and Switzerland. The scheme design challenges the heaviness of the established educational building standard with a flexible and open structure, creating three different gable roof pieces. They intersect becoming noteworthy connection spaces. This idea is intended to merge modernity and Swiss building heritage. SCHOOL
Entire School Building is cloaked in different shapes wooden ribbed membrane allowing light to flood and providing with dramatic views over Rhein river. Inward and outward facing is intended to manage. Open-air space perimeter is lined with movable working blocks saved in a wooden and glazed structure. This supporting element house connection and service spaces. Wooden working blocks break the spaciousness making possible both movements along the river and across the building. RESIDENCE
The residence uses the same ribbed language to allow light and movements to flood. It provides to the building with a way to accentuate both river and mountains views and draws inhabitants into the spectacular landscape. Every four-people housing apartment is equipped with all kinds’ facilities. Living and resting spaces are defined by kitchen and bathroom. Each apartment has been designed to maximize the usable area. MANAGEMENT
A concrete gable roof building erects the management section. A full-height atrium along the riverside links the different levels visually, creating a feeling of spaciousness. It is enclosed by glazed department and management offices, arranged along the river.

PENITENTIARY FOR PROPERTY SPECULATORS IN NORWAY IDEA
Due to current economical crisis, architecture reputation has greatly decreased. In order to show architecture potential to improve the world, the competition suggests building a penitentiary to host every person responsible for speculation crimes. They should be tried in a society with a more advanced justice and punished in a place with an extreme climate. FRAME
The scheme demanded self-sufficient cells to host prisoners who must be seen from the outside. To build in this extreme, snowy climate place, prefabricated gable-roofed reinforced concrete frames are chosen. These hollow pieces can be mass-produced to allow a quick, sustainable assembly in situ. Frames are easily assembled and fixed by steel post-tensioned bars. A glass enclosure allows local inhabitants to observe the prisoners. They can meantime be aware of their mistakes whilst they watch a breath-taking environment around them. ASSEMBLY
The assembly freedom manages to create different-sized habitable spaces by putting together gable-roofed frames, which lay on concrete platforms supported around 1 meter over the ground by concrete piles. The space under the platforms is used to lead the installation system out of the cells. Due to this freely growth, the penitentiary can be expanded following the same assembly rules without forgetting the stunning place we are placed on.
