Уважаемые гости курорта, дорогие коллеги и жители Яхимова, этот курортный сезон заработал на полные обороты. В буквальном смысле. После года неуверенности и падения спроса в связи с министерским регулированием курорт снова заполнен. И это притом, что регуляционные меры ничуть не изменились, хотя много чего произошло. Сначала министр Голцат согласился с нами, что изменения были весьма значительными и скачкообразными. Потом он распорядился создать рабочую группу, которая подготовила проект изменений упомянутого постановления правительства, устанавливающего перечень показаний для лечения, который должен смягчить ряд регуляционных мер. Попытки министра Немечека в апреле ускоренно ввести эти изменения в силу пресек своим постановлением Конституционный суд. Он принял решение, что регулировать санаторно-курортное лечение в таком объеме могут только депутаты в форме закона, которым постановление правительства не является. Это заключение суда и мы и Вы, конечно, приветствуем, но не приветствуем время его вынесения, поскольку оно на несколько дней опередило предложенный министром пакет изменений, и таким образом де-факто до конца этого года законсервировало регуляционные меры, предусмотренные действующим постановлением. То есть самые ограничительные и часто проблематичные из них. Но последующие обсуждения с министерством здравоохранения, всеми участвующими сторонами, и заявления премьера Соботки дают нам надежду, что итоговый проект закона не будет отличаться от проекта изменений, и будет дружественным к пациентам и курорту. С известием обо все еще действующей регуляции плохо согласуются мои вступительные слова о заполненном курорте. Но это не трудно объяснить – для такой заполненности есть целый ряд причин. Помимо роста интереса к нам за рубежом и расширения диапазона показаний, в этом году вернулось много регулярных пациентов, которые после

введения в 2012 году ограничительного перечня показаний, при всех своих проблемах пропустили два года курортного отдыха. Также осмелюсь утверждать, что мы совершенствуемся в маркетинге и разработке продуктов, нацелились на новые группы потенциальных клиентов, на новые рынки, кроме того привлекательность Яхимова значительно возросла благодаря развитию лыжных курортов. Но главная причина заключается в значительном росте интереса широких кругов общественности к курортному отдыху благодаря массивной кампании Ассоциации курортов и интереса СМИ к этой отрасли в связи с ограничением ее финансирования. Курортное дело связано с водой. Без нее невозможна ни жизнь, ни работа курорта. Поэтому ежегодно в ходе торжественного открытия сезона мы благословляем не только курорт, всех его сотрудников и пациентов, но и наши источники, и символически кропим их свяченой водой, чтобы они не иссякали и продолжали дарить нам здоровье. В этом году во время торжеств буквально разверзлись небеса и курорт, источники и всех нас окропила гроза, а после нее выглянуло солнце. Хочется верить, что это было доброе предзнаменование, и сам всевышний благословил нас своей водой. Если это так, то учитывая его щедрость за будущее курорта можно не беспокоиться. After a year of uncertainty and declining demand due to ministerial regulatory restrictions, the spa is full once again. Despite the fact that the restrictions remain unchanged, a lot has indeed happened.

Firstly, Minister Holcát agreed with us that the restrictions were too harsh and incremental. Subsequently, the health minister appointed a work group to prepare a draft amendment of the relevant decree, i.e. a list of indications, which was to alleviate some of the restrictions. Unfortunately, the attempt of his successor, Minister Němeček, to enact the amended decree in April was hampered by the decision of the Constitutional Court. The court ruled that spa care could be regulated in this scope only by members of parliament by way of a law and not through a decree. Although we have all welcomed this ruling, we can-

not say the same about its timing as it had preceded the minister’s amended decree in a matter of days. As a result, it has de facto conserved the restrictions of the original decree by prolonging their validity to the end of the year, in particular the most restrictive and often quite problematic ones. Nonetheless, consequent negotiations with the Ministry of Health and all interested parties, as well as the declaration of Prime Minister give us hope that the resultant draft law will not differ from the amended decree and that it will be friendlier towards both spas and patients.

The above stated facts concerning the continuously valid restrictions seem to contradict my introductory words about our spa being full. The explanation is quite simple even though our current occupancy rate may be attributed to a number of reasons.

Apart from the growing interest of clients from abroad and the wider spectrum of treated diagnoses, we are welcoming a considerable number of returning regular patients who have found themselves in a two-year regime in between their spa treatment due to the restrictive list of indications in effect since 2012. I also believe that we are improving our marketing activities and our product development, we are targeting more potential customer groups, we are focusing on new markets, and, finally yet importantly, the attractiveness of Jáchymov is growing thanks to the rapidly developing ski areas. Above all these reasons, however, there is the growing interest of the public in spas due to the massive campaign of the Czech Spa Association and the interest of the media in this field in connection with the limitation of spa treatment covered by health insurance.

Balneology has always been closely associated with water. Without water, there would be no life and no spas. Within annual celebrations of the opening of the spa season, we therefore bless not only our spa, its employees and our patients, but also our springs, and we symbolically spray them with holy water to preserve them and their healing powers. During this year’s celebrations, the sky literally opened up and heavy rain poured down onto the spa, the springs, and the people.

Presently, the sun reappeared and started shining again. We want to believe that it was a good sign and that the Almighty blessed us with His holy water. If so, given the amount of water that poured from the sky, we do not need to worry about the future of our spa.

ОТЗЫВЫ ВАЛЬПУРГИЕВА НОЧЬ НА ТЕРРАСЕ КУРОРТНОГО ОТЕЛЯ RADIUM PALACE Вальпургиева ночь – это магический праздник, прежде всего известный церемонией изгнания ведьм. В эту ночь люди сходятся у разожженных костров и отмечают приход весны. Мы не забыли об этом празднике и 30 апреля на террасе курортного отеля Radium Palace подготовили для гостей курорта Ведьмин вечер. О музыкальном сопровождении со своей ретро-дискотекой позаботился Давид Килхауэр. Жарили и готовили на гриле не только колбаски, но и, например, ананасы. Гости танцевали и посмотрели фаер-шоу. Приятным сюрпризом стал фейерверк. Несмотря на плохую погоду, пришло много гостей, которые хорошо развлекались весь вечер. Эту традицию мы продолжим и в следующем году. Предприятие работает в многосменном режиме. Каждый сотрудник, участвующий в производстве автомобиля, должен работать быстро, точно и в команде. Профсоюз KOVO поддерживает восстановление сил и реабилитацию своих сотрудников, в частности, обеспечивая в рамках насыщенной социальной программы качественный курортный отдых. Персонал ŠKODA AUTO a.s. приезжает восстановить силы и здоровье и на Лечебный курорт Яхимов. С 2010 года уникальное лечение опорно-двигательного аппарата в рамках программы «Традиционный яхимовский курс лечения» прошли 550 сотрудников. Все партнеры - Лечебный курорт Яхимов, руководство компании ŠKODA AUTO и Профсоюз KOVO договорились о продолжении сотрудничества и улучшении качества услуг. Ева Яндакова, региональный менеджер ЧР ПОД ПРИЦЕЛОМ СЛОВАКИЯ Свои возможности в области курортного лечения яхимовский курорт совместно с Курортом Лугачовице представил на выставке Expo Center в Тренчине 16-18 мая. Профессиональным гарантом выступил Чешский туристический центр. Мероприятие приняла под свое покровительство посол Чешской Республики в Словакии Ливия Клаусова. «Было очень приятно, когда госпожа посол лично подошла к павильону и сказала, что с нетерпением ждет осенней поездки в Яхимов», - заметила госпожа Яндакова. После этого группа словацких журналистов приехала на торже4

Во время пребывания в Яхимове они посетили шахту Svornost, взяли интервью у д-ра медицины Ленки Драски, главврача отеля Běhounek, приняли радоновую ванну и послушали лекцию физиотерапевта Зденьки Фидлеровой «Школа спины». FLASHBACKS WALPURGIS NIGHT AT THE RADIUM PALACE SPA HOTEL TERRACE Walpurgis Night is a feast entwined with mystery and it is commonly known as the night of the burning of the witches. On this night, people gather at bonfires to celebrate the coming of spring. As we too wanted to join in the celebrations, we prepared a Witches’ Evening for the spa guests at the terrace of the Radium Palace Spa Hotel on 30 April.

David Keilhauer entertained the guests with his oldies disco featuring a wide choice of music for dancing and listening. Traditional wursts were roasted in the fire or on a grill along with other goodies, such as pineapple. During the evening, the guests danced and admired a fire show. The surprise of the evening were fireworks. Despite of the bad weather, many guests came and enjoyed themselves all evening. We plan to continue in this tradition also next year.

Romana Bernátková, Sales Manager, Radium Palace**** ŠKODA AUTO TAKES CARE OF ITS EMPLOYEES Every year, 26,000 employees of ŠKODA AUTO a.s. produce almost one million cars. Along with the representatives of other nine spa resorts, we had a chance to learn more about their hard and challenging work during an event organized by the Odbory KOVO ŠKODA AUTO a.s. trade union organization in cooperation with the company management on 28 May. Vehicle production is effected by means of multiple shift operations. Every employee involved in vehicle production has to work quickly, accurately and as a team player. The KOVO trade union supports the reconditioning and rehabilitation of its employees by offering high-quality spa stays as a part of its abundant social program. Thus, ŠKODA AUTO a.s. employees also come to Jáchymov Spa to regain health and to recuperate. Since 2010, 550 employees have undergone the unique locomotor system treatment which is a part of the “Traditional Jáchymov Cure”. All partners, i.e. Léčebné lázně Jáchymov a.s., the ŠKODA AUTO management and the KOVO trade union, have agreed on continued cooperation and on improving the quality of services in the future.

Eva Jandáková, District Manager for the Czech Republic WE ARE HEADING TO SLOVAKIA The Jáchymov Spa along with the Luhačovice Spa presented their spa treatment offer at the Expo Center exhibition grounds in Trenčín from 16 to 18 May. The professional guarantor of the fair was CzechTourism.

The event was held under the auspices of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovakia, H.E. Livia Klausová. “It was so nice when the Ambassador came to our stand to tell us how she was looking forward to her autumn stay in Jáchymov“, Mrs. Jandáková recalls.

Subsequently, a group of Slovak journalists came to see the celebrations marking the 108th opening of the spa season on 23 a 24 May and to obtain the latest information for their readers and listeners. During their stay, they visited the Svornost Mine, they talked with Dr. Lenka Draská, Chief Physician of the Akademik Běhounek Spa Hotel, they tried the radon bath, and they attended a lecture of Zdeňka Fiedlerová dedicated to back and spinal problems. We heard nothing but words of praise in relation to the standard of spa care and the professionalism of the staff of the Svornost Mine and the Běhounek Hotel.

СОБЫТИЯ EVENTS 24 МАЯ СОСТОЯЛОСЬ ОТКРЫТИЕ 108-ГО КУРОРТНОГО СЕЗОНА OPENING OF THE 108TH SPA SEASON ON 24 MAY

К праздничному дню была подготовлена насыщенная программа не только для гостей курорта, но и для широкой общественности. В первой половине дня перед посетителями выступил ансамбль Swing Melody из Острова, а после него – мажоретки из Хеба. Послеполуденную программу перед домом культуры открыл короткий концерт горняцкого ансамбля Barbora. Большое внимание привлекли ретро-автомобили, которые дождались своих пассажиров и вместе с лошадиной упряжкой приняли участие в торжественном параде. Аллегорическое шествие через город является традиционной и популярной частью церемонии открытия. В этом году в нем также приняли участие горняки из шахты Svornost, самой старой работающей шахты в мире, и из соседней Германии, отряд представителей сокольского движения, велосипедисты на исторических велосипедах и связанные с Яхимовом исторические личности. An abundant program was prepared for this festive day to entertain the spa guests, as well as the wide public. The morning program opened with the Swing Melody Band from Ostrov, which was followed by successful majorettes from Cheb. The afternoon program started off in front of the House of Culture with a small concert of the Barbora Miners’ Band. One of the major attractions were undoubtedly vintage automobiles. The historic cars waited for their passengers and they took part in the festive parade alongside horse-driven carriages. The allegorical parade marching through the town is a traditional and very popular part of the opening ceremony. This year, miners from the Svornost Mine, which is the oldest operating mine in the world, miners from neighbouring Germany, a group of Sokols, historical cyclists, as well as historical personages associated with Jáchymov were among the paraders. Count Šlik, scholar Agricola and Pierre Curie with his wife Mary Curie-Sklodowska arrived in a carriage.

They were followed by vintage cars carrying the President of the Region of Karlovy Vary, Josef Novotný, the Managing Director of Léčebné lázně Jáchymov a.s., Eduard Bláha, the Mayor of Jáchymov, Bronislav Grulich, and the Ostrov Parish priest, Father Marek Hric.

The own ceremony opened with a funny dialogue between Madam Curie and her husband Pierre with Georgius Agricola who then gave the floor to the other present guests. The opening ceremony culminated with the symbolical unlocking of the spa season and the blessing of the spa spring. The afternoon music program began with a concert of singer Leona Šenková. Unfortunately, heavy rain interrupted this part of the program shortly after it had begun. The concert of Burma Jones, as the main star of the program, had to be moved to the House of Culture. We wish to express our respect and gratitude to both musical guests for their immense understanding and adaptability.

Мы с супругой тогда остановились в отеле Praha, и нам там очень понравилось. В свой следующий приезд в 2010 году мы остановились в отеле Astorie. В этом году мы остановили свой выбор на отеле Běhounek и не нарадуемся. Для меня главный плюс яхимовского курорта – это, конечно же, радоновые ванны. Могу только подтвердить, что лечение минимум на шесть месяцев избавляет меня от болей, и я хорошо себя чувствую. Госпожа Дединова является владелицей компании Bridge-Kreis s.r.o., которая через два года отметит свое 30-летие. Несметное количество гостей со всех немецкоязычных стран проводят отпуск за королевской игрой бридж. У них есть даже свои олимпиады и чемпионаты мира. А поскольку игроки принадлежат скорее к старшему поколению. Госпоже Дединовой пришла в голову идея объединить карточную игру с лечением, иными словами – фитнесс для тела и души. Я всю жизнь проработала на полную ставку, чувствовала себя хорошо и не жаловалась на боли. Хотела бы выделить лечение «коробочками», которое всем нам помогает избавиться от болей и обеспечивает превосходные результаты. Поэтому яхимовский курорт для меня «номер один», и я всегда с радостью сюда возвращаюсь. Очень помогают. Без этого лечения я бы наверняка не смог ежедневно выполнять свои трудовые обязанности. Прохождение курса лечения обеспечивает мне снижение потребление болеутоляющих средств, общее снятие напряжения и улучшение мотивации на следующий период с точки зрения занятий и образа жизни в целом. Почему Вы бы порекомендовали лечение в Яхимове остальным пациентам? Рекомендую каждому. И, как мне кажется, они тоже довольны. Потому что курорт специализируется на нашей (моей) болезни, как в плане радоновых ванн, так и физиотерапии. По своему опыту лечения на других курортах предпочитаю Яхимов по причине более высокой эффективности лечения (радон), индивидуальному подходу персонала и удивительной атмосферы Radium Palace и окрестностей. ИЗ ДНЕВНИКА БЕХТЕРЕВЦА Говорят, что бехтеревец, не побывавший в Яхимове, словно и не был на курортах. Для нас это как Мекка для мусульманина. И хотя я уже когда-то прошел на этом курорте курс лечения, но, во-первых, это было действительно давно, а во-вторых, в знаменитой радоновой воде я тогда даже мизинец не намочил. Стыжусь, каюсь и обещаю исправиться. Хороший случай представился, когда Клуб предложил мне курс десятидневного лечения, включающий кроме прочего целых десять «радонок». Решено, заполняю анкету, а так как я человек экономный, выбираю простой и дешевый одноместный номер в отеле Jitřenka. В назначенное время с улыбкой даю распоряжение к оплате, получаю у участкового врача направление к физиотерапевту, благодаря которому отдельные процедуры за меня заплатит медицинская страховая компания, и с нетерпением ожидаю 20 ноября, день приезда на курорт. Время пролетело незаметно, и вот я сижу в автобусе на маршруте Прага – Яхимов. На конечную остановку из-за дорожных работ мы приехали с некоторым опозданием и с приятным удивлением обнаружили, что курортный шофер ждет нашего прибытия. Он и отвез нас вместе с нашим багажом к ресепшену отеля Běhounek. После нескольких часов дороги это была действительно милая услуга. Уже в холле я увидел знакомых по Клубу, а это значит, что я попал в нужное место. Отнес багаж в гардероб, и завертелась карусель, включительно с медосмотром и составлением расписания процедур. Успел оценить мастерство местного повара. Обед и остальное питание подаются в

виде шведского стола, единственная проблема для слабовольных людей – как из этого богатого ассортимента выбрать не очень калорийную еду? Эту, так сказать, вступительную часть завершила исконно яхимовская процедура – радоновая ванна. Переполненный первыми впечатлениями, я направился в свой отель по новому коридору, который соединил Běhounek с Dalibor и Jitřenka. Его преимущество оценит каждый, особенно в плохую погоду, но я должен сразу предупредить, что там есть ступени, поэтому людям с ограниченной подвижностью я его не рекомендую. Вечером вся наша компания сошлась на первом ознакомительном собрании, а на следующий день мы уже чувствовали себя настоящими «курортными франтами». Этот тип курортного лечения я искренне рекомендую всем, кто нуждается в «подзарядке аккумулятора» в промежутке между приездами на курорт, и тем, кому не получилось приехать. Свои фирменные блюда в этом году готовили 13 шеф-поваров. Яхимовский курорт на фестивале был представлен во второй раз. Меню составил Петр Плоц, шеф-повар лечебного отеля Radium Palace. В презентации принимал участие и шефповар курортного отеля Běhounek Мартин Фоучек. Это обучение помогло нашим поварам в их работе. Мы уверены, что ассортимент традиционных блюд удовлетворит даже самых взыскательных арабских гостей. Полагаю, коллеги и руководство были мною довольны, и в 2005 г. меня назначили заместителем шеф-повара, а еще через несколько лет, в 2010 году – шеф-поваром отеля. Именно подготовка особых мероприятий, для которых я изобретаю и испытываю новые блюда, составляю новое праздничное меню, стала для меня вызовом, принять который мне особенно приятно. После тяжелой работы почти все свободное время я провожу в кругу семьи. У меня двое детей, которым я стараюсь уделять максимум внимания. А когда хочу отдохнуть в полном одиночестве, то с удочкой, на рыбалке. Это мое любимое занятие с 5-летнего возраста». И В ЗАКЛЮЧЕНИЕ ФИРМЕННЫЙ РЕЦЕПТ МАРТИНА ФОУЧЕКА: Медальоны из свинины с моцареллой и баклажанами Ингредиенты • свинина 1 шт. (вырезка, большой кусок) • баклажан 4 ломтика • сыр моцарелла 1 упаковка (шарик) • оливковое масло 2 ложки • чеснок 1 зубок • перец 1 чайная ложка (измельченный) • соль Для соуса: • помидоры 2 шт. (крупные) • болгарский перец красный 1 шт. (средний) • лук 1 шт. (средний) • бульон 1 стакан • оливковое масло 2 ложки • сахар (по вкусу) • перец (измельченный) • соль Приготовление Свиную вырезку очистить от пленки, разрезать на 4 продолговатых куска, слегка отбить и посыпать измельченным перцем. Ломтики баклажана натереть оливковым маслом, смешанным с растертым чесноком. Очистить, мелко нарезать лук и обжарить его на сковороде на оливковом масле. Добавить мелко нарезанные помидоры и очищенный от семян болгарский перец, посолить, добавить небольшое количество сахара и измельченного перца, накрыть крышкой и тушить на медленном огне. Примерно через 10 минут залить бульоном и варить до загустения. Между тем на сковороде хорошо разогреть оливковое масло, быстро обжарить со всех сторон куски мяса и переложить их в небольшой противень, а на сковороде поджарить с обеих сторон ломтики баклажана. Обжаренные куски баклажана положить на ломти мяса, добавить на каждый ломоть по ¼ шарика моцареллы и запекать в духовке при температуре 220 °C до золотистого цвета. LET US PRAISE GOOD FOOD AND BEVERAGES The 7th year of the culinary art festival took place on 3 May as a part of the opening of the spa season in Karlovy Vary.

Th irteen chefs prepared their specialties for this year’s Food Festival. Jáchymov Spa presented its culinary art for the second time at the festival. The menu was assembled by the Radium Palace Spa Hotel Executive Chef, Petr Ploc.

The presentation was prepared in cooperation with the Executive Chef of the Akademik Běhounek Spa Hotel, Martin Fouček.

Main course:

ARAB CUISINE TRAINING AT THE RADIUM PALACE Arab cuisine is considered to be healthy, variegated, and very popular. The dishes are low on fat with plenty of olive oil, vegetables, and legumes. Arab cuisine is known as quite aromatic thanks to the wide array of spices that it uses.

Guests from Arab countries belong among traditional clientele at Jáchymov Spa. To make their stay even more pleasant, the F&B departments of our spa hotels participated in training dedicated to Arabic food recipes. The training under the command and spoon of the Executive Chef of Czech Television, V. Šmerda, took place on 15 and 16 May. All the chefs tried their hand at preparing various dishes, such as tabbouleh, bulgur, falafel, hummus, lamb pilaf, or lamb kofta. Traditional ingredients and mainly the spices typical for Arab cuisine were used. The training proved beneficial and helped our chefs in their everyday work. We believe that the offer of traditional dishes will satisfy even the most demanding Arab guests.

Despite of the bad weather, hundreds of visitors came to the gastronomic festival and the meticulously prepared specialties quickly disappeared from the festival stands. Without actually knowing it, we had a strictly objective reconnaissance patrol among the festival visitors. The Jáchymov stand attracted great attention and based on the information from our patrol, its menu belonged among the most elaborate.

The competition was tough and the results present a challenge not only in relation to the future years of the Food Festival but also with regard to our everyday work. Come and try the specialties yourself at the Radium Palace. We look forward to seeing you.

Executive Chef Martin Fouček, who spent his apprentice years in Jáchymov, has helped raise the boarding services at the Běhounek Hotel to the ultimate level. It is not accident that he is awarded the “Order of the Golden Spoon” by several guests rating the hotel boarding services every year.

What made you choose a culinary career? “After fi nishing basic school, my parents and I were wondering where to go next. Finally, a decision was made that I should study at the Secondary School of Culinary and Catering Services in Karlovy Vary. I began my studies in the chef program in 1995. I had always liked cooking and I was looking forward to practical training. As I have been living in Jáchymov since my childhood, I welcomed the opportunity of obtaining practical training at the Běhounek Hotel. After completing my studies, I started working at the hotel as a chef. I think that both my colleagues and my employer were satisfied with my work. Maybe that is why I was offered the position of the deputy executive chef in 2005. Several years later, in 2010, I was made another offer and I became the hotel’s executive chef. I knew it would not be easy. Being a chef is hard work and I have chosen this career only because it is also my hobby. Moreover, organizing work for my colleagues and securing catering services for various hotel events outside the ordinary schedule is sometimes

quite challenging. The preparation of such events, when new recipes are proposed and tested, when new, special menus are drawn up – those are the challenges that I fi nd quite exciting. Especially when they turn out well. After hard work, I try to relax in my free time. I spend a lot of my free time with my family. I have 2 children and I try spending as much time as possible with them. And when I feel like being alone, in that case, I grab a fishing rod and go fishing. My love of fishing began at the age of 5.”

IN THE END, OUR CHEF MARTIN WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU ONE OF HIS EXQUISITE RECIPES:

Pork medallions with mozzarella and aubergine Ingredients: • pork 1 piece (fi llet, larger chunk) • aubergine 4 slices • Mozzarella 1 packet (ball) • olive oil 2 table spoons • garlic 1 clove • pepper 1 tea spoon (crushed) • salt For the sauce: • tomatoes 2 pieces (big) • red pepper 1 piece (medium) • onion 1 piece (medium) • stock 200 ml • olive oil 2 table spoons • sugar (according to taste) • pepper (crushed) • salt

Preparation After removing the membrane from the pork fi llet, cut it into 4 chunks, beat gently and sprinkle with crushed pepper. Rub the aubergine slices with a spoon of olive oil mixed with crushed garlic. Peel the onion, chop it fi nely and gently fry in a small pot with olive oil. Add the fi nely chopped tomatoes and deseeded pepper, flavour with salt, a small amount of sugar and crushed pepper. Cover the pot or pan with a lid and leave to simmer slowly. After about 10 minutes, pour in the stock and cook until thick.

In the meantime, heat the remaining olive oil in a pan and fry the pork chunks quickly on both sides. Place them in a small baking pan and fry the aubergine slices on both sides in the pan with the dripping. Place the aubergine slices on the pork chunks and put a quarter of the mozzarella ball on each of them. Bake until golden in an oven heated to 220°C. Put each pork chunk on a plate, add the warm sauce, and serve preferably with pasta.

Летнюю серию 12 июня открыли «Лучшие испанские и итальянские арии и оперетты» в исполнении превосходного вокалиста, солиста Национального театра Якуба Пустины (баритон), по приглашению выступающего также в братиславском Словацком национальном театре. Певец гастролирует по всей стране, является победителем многочисленных конкурсов вокалистов. Фортепианное сопровождение – Рихард Пол. Но главным музыкальным деликатесом, конечно, будут курсы вокального мастерства замечательной словацкой певицы и педагога Дагмар Ливоровой, которые пройдут в Яхимове с 22 по 26 июля. В эти дни слушателей ожидают выступления десяти оперных исполнителей со всего мира. В прошлые годы в курсах приняли участие певцы из Японии, Кореи, Китая, Украины, России, Германии, Литвы, Бельгии, Франции, Венгрии, Польши, Австрии, Словакии и Чехии. Курсы вокалистов в сопровождении фортепиано продлятся целую неделю, и будут открытыми для широкой общественности. Музыканты, в первую очередь, исполняют песни кийовской области, где они роились и живут, но их репертуар намного богаче, и включает фольклорную музыку из других областей Моравии, Чехии, Словакии, Венгрии и Румынии. Богатый музыкальный ассортимент расширит концерт джаз-банда Trio Wuh, состоящего из виртуозного американского пианиста СКИПА УИЛКИНСА, одного из лучших европейских контрабасистов ФРАНТИШЕКА УГЛИРЖА и знаменитого чешского ударника ЯРОМИРА ГЕЛЕЦИЦА, который состоится в 20:00 в четверг 7 августа 2014 г. SUMMER MUSICAL TREATS IN JÁCHYMOV The SPA Info Program Centre has prepared an extraordinarily abundant music program that will allow the audience to explore various music genres.

The summer series opened on 12 June with “Famous Spanish and Italian Arias and Operettas” performed by the brilliant baritonist and leading soloist of the National Theatre, Jakub Pustina, who also appears as a guest at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava. Jakub Pustina gives concerts all over the country and has won various singing competitions. Richard Pohl accompanied him on the piano.

For the last day in July, at 8:00 pm, we have prepared a concert of the Varmuža’s Cymbal Band for the spa guests and the wide public. The wellknown Moravian cymbal band was founded in 1964 and it is acclaimed for its musicality at home as well as abroad. The band has participated at many international festivals and contests in Europe and in America where it has acquired a number of prestigious awards. The musicians mainly focus on the authentic interpretation of folk songs from their native region of Kyjov where they live. Nevertheless, their extensive repertoire also includes folklore music from other regions of Moravia, Bohemia, Slovakia, Hungary, or Romania.

On Thursday 7 August from 8:00 pm, the truly variegated music offer will be complemented with the concert of the Trio Wuh. The jazz ensemble consists of excellent American pianist SKIP WILKINS, one of the best European contrabass player FRANTIŠEK UHLÍŘ, and Czech drummer legend JAROMÍR HELEŠIC. The trio rightfully deserves the title “Discovery of the Year 2014”. Following the trio’s successful tour in prominent German clubs in 2012, its members agreed to continue in their collaboration and to this date, they have given more than 70 concerts in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The repertoire features their own works.

The last concert that we would like to point your attention to are THE “FRENCH CHANSONS AS A TRIBUTE TO EDITH PIAF” performed by outstanding singer and chansonnier Marta Balejová. The concert will take place on Thursday 28 August from 8:00 pm at the Radium Palace.

Уже многие годы для Лугачовиц характерно богатое культурное лето с музыкальными и театральными фестивалями. Именно они летом привлекают на этот чешский курорт любителей театра и хорошей музыки. Главным проектом нынешнего Года чешской музыки будут, несомненно, пять концертов фестиваля «Яначек и Лугачовице». 23-й по счету фестиваль пройдет с 14 по 18 июля с участием Чешского филармонического хора из Брно и Чешских камерных солистов, отечественной примы Йитки Госпровой (виолончель) и Камерного оркестра им. Яначека. Любителей джаза порадует выступление трио Эмиля Виклицкого, большие ожидания связаны с органным концертом Катержины Хробоковой и Дагмар Шашковой (меццо-сопрано). Кульминацией фестиваля непременно станет концерт Евы Држизговой-Йирушовой (сопрано) и Алеша Брисцейна (тенор) в сопровождении филармонического оркестра им. Богуслава Мартину. NEWS FROM LUHAČOVICE SPA LUHAČOVICE CULTURAL SUMMER A summer of culture with numerous music and theatre festivals has always been an inevitable part of the life in the spa town of Luhačovice. For many visitors, these cultural events are the main reason for why they choose to come to the spa in the summer.

As this year is the Year of Czech Music, the paramount event will undoubtedly be the Janáček and Luhačovice Festival, which will include 5 concerts and will take place from 14 to 18 July. The 23rd year of the festival will showcase the Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno with Czech chamber soloists, our first violist Jitka Hosprová and the Janáček Chamber Orchestra. Jazz lovers will surely appreciate the Emil Viklický Trio and the organ concert of Kateřina Chroboková with mezzosopranist Dagmar Šašková will certainly be an intense artistic experience. The highlight of the festival is bound to be the concert of sopranist Eva Dřízgová-Jirušová with tenorist Aleš Briscein who will be accompanied by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra.

Theatre enthusiasts may look forward to a number of comedies staged at the Spa Theatre in July, e.g. “Password Morality” with M. Etzler and N. Boudová, “My Daughter Works in Paris” with P. Nárožný in the lead role, “Tom, Dick, and Harry” with A. Gondíková, M. Zounar and F. Tomsa. The week from 18 to 23 August will be dedicated to the traditional chamber theatre festival known as Thespian Luhačovice, during which six renowned theatre companies will present their plays. The program will include “The Second Death of Joan of Arc” with V. Cibulková, L. Mrkvička and S. Lehký.

The first prolonged weekend from 4 to 6 September will bring the 2nd year of the Days of Slovak Culture with an abundant program featuring leading Slovak artists and ensembles. The event will open with the joint performance of two folklore ensembles, i.e. the Družba from Trenčín and the Oldšava from 26

tenorist Štefan Margita and his guests: sopranist K. Šmídová-Kalvachová and pianist K. Bachmannová.

GRAND OPENING OF THE REVITALIZED SPA COMPLEX The grand opening of the twenty hectare spa complex in the possession of the joint-stock company Lázně Luhačovice, a.s., took place in mid June after it had undergone thorough revitalization completed in record time. From last November, all visitors and guests coming to Luhačovice were able to witness the most extensive transformation of the spa square known as Lázeňské náměstí and the spa park, unprecedented over the past several decades. After overmature wooden species and unsightly overgrown bushes had been cut down and cleared, almost 500 new full-grown trees were planted within four days in autumn. The Japanese garden in the vicinity of the Jestřábí Hotel was also adapted and new evergreen shrubs were planted around the Brussels Fountain in front the Bedřich Smetana House Hotel. The New Jubilee Spring Pavilion

is decorated with blooming rhododendrons and the surroundings of the Alpine Rose Villa and Under the Lindens Villa have also received a facelift with rare heaths creating the impression of a mountain environment. The total revitalization costs amounted to 28 million Czech Crowns. The joint-stock company invested almost 8 million Czech Crowns from its own sources and the remaining amount was financed from the funds of the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic and the European Fund for Regional Development.

The revitalization of the greenery has considerably rejuvenated the largest Moravian spa. The entire complex has become markedly light and airy and offers a number of previously unseen views. Come to Luhačovice this year to discover its new enchanting beauty.

ИЗМЕНЕНИЯ В КАФЕ AGRICOLA У кафе курортного спа-центра Agricola появился новый хозяин, которым стал Яхимовский курорт. И хотя заметных изменений в интерьере не произошло, значительно улучшился состав меню, которое пополнили несколько видов сладких и соленых блинчиков, свежеиспеченные горячие курортные вафли, мороженое в бокале и кофе Tchibo Vista. После плавания в бассейне, сауны или тренировки можно освежиться на втором этаже курортного спа-центра Agricola и полакомиться нашими фирменными блюдами. BRAND NEW CAFÉ AGRICOLA The café at the Agricola Spa Centre is newly operated by the joint-stock company Léčebné lázně Jáchymov. Although no visible changes were made to the café interiors, the composition of the menu has been improved quite significantly. The offer newly includes a selection of popular sweet or salted pancakes, freshly baked spa oblatens, ice cream sundaes, and Tchibo Vista coffee.

After swimming in the pool, exercising or relaxing in the sauna, come and refresh yourself and try our specialties at our brand new café on the first floor of the Agricola Spa Centre. We will also gladly welcome spa guests who will stop by during their walks through the spa. We look forward to your visit.
