ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO A COLLECTION OF DESIGNS AND CREATIVE WORKS BY JOSE NAVA SECOND YEAR STUDENT - UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA
About My parents have always told me that a person’s education and work ethic tells much about there personality. I have learned to become a driven person in terms of both, education and work ethic, because of my family’s truism; I believe one should never stop getting an education. After taking the time to understand what I was looking for in life I now have the idea of the ideal path for me, and I am more devoted to my education now than ever before. In the search for a career that I would appreciate and love, I found the passion and admiration for in the architectural field. I was born and raised in California, but currently residing in the state of Delaware. My parents migrated from Mexico City, MX, in search for a better future for me and my siblings. I am the oldest of four, I have three younger sisters, 24, 16, and 15. I am currently a 28-year old student majoring in Architectecture at the University of Oklahoma. I have earn an Associates in Architectural Engineering at Delaware Technical Community College on May of 2015. As a child I was always taught to pursue my dreams, and as of August of 2015, I set my goals on earning a Bacheloroette in Architecture. An associated degree was only the first step in becoming and architect. Becoming and architect is not only

BLUE GILL RESERVE THE CAPSTONE COURSE REQUIERED A GROUP OF ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS TO DESIGN A COMMERCIAL SITE LOCATE WITH IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, THE GROUP TEAM UP WITH THE CIVIL ENGINEER STUDENTS AND THE EVIORMENTAL ENGINEER STUDENTS. THE PROJECT WAS TO BE DESIGN FOR THE LUMS POND STATE PARK LOCATED IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE. AS LEAD DESIGNER, I NOTICE THE NEED OF THE PROJECT FOR A DESIGN THAT WOULD REFLECT IT’S SURROUNDING ENVIORMENT AND INCORPORATED TO FORM OF THE BUILDINGS. FROM THAT IDEA THE PROJECT INCORPORATED THE ABSTRAC SHAPES OF A BOAT, DUCK, AND A TULIP COMMON TO THE LOCATION. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT WAS TO CREATE BUILDINGS THAT WOULD FUNCTION SMOOTHLY WITH ITS FUNCTION AND INCORPORATE AN IDEA BEHIND THE DESING.

OBSERVATION STATION THE TASK WAS TO CREAT A FORM OF CIRSCULATION THROUGH A GRID THAT PROVIDED MANY OPORTUNITIES TO BE UTILIZE AND END AT AN OBSERVATION ARE. THE PROJECT ALLOW THE OPORTUNITY TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE FORM THAT PEOPLE TRAVEL THROUGH AN AREA TO REACH THEIR DESTINATION. INTIALLY THE CLASS BEGAN WORKING ON THEIR OWN PARTICULAR FORM OF INTERPRETATING THE PROJECT. AFTER THE FIRST WEEK THE CLASS WAS ASK TO TRADE PROJECT WITH A FELLOW CLASSMATE. THE PROJECT IN MY INTERPRETATION DESERVE TO BE OVER A CLIFF WHERE PEOPLE WOULD BE ALLOW TO INTAKE THE BUEATY OF NATURE, SHAPE, AND FOR. THE PROJECT TOOK IN THE CONTEXT OF ITS LOCATION CREATING A VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL CIRCULATION THAT ALLOW VISITORS TO ACCEPT HOW THE STRUCTURE FEED FROM FROM THE GROUND. TURN ARE BLOCK IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE CIRCULATION TO TRAVEL TO AN AREA OF UNKNOWN, AND IT ALSO FEEDS IN TO THE IDEA OF COMPRESSION AND EXPANSSION.

OKC MOVIVE LOUNGE AREA OKC MOVIE LOUNGE IS A PROJECT LOCATE IN THE HEART OF THE CITY AND IT INTENTION IS PROVIDE VISITORS A LOCATION WHERE THEY CAN ENJOY MOVIE OR PREFORMANCE UNDER THE STARS. SITUATED BETWEEN TWO BUILDINGS THE AREA SEEK TO USE SMALL DETAILS FROM BOTH BUILDINGS AND ENLARGE THEM CREATING COLISTION OF IDEAS IN IT DESIGN. THE ANGELS OTHE THE PATH AND FRONT ENTRANCE WALL IMMITATE THE ANGELS OF THE FROM ENTRANCE THE RESEMBELS A WATER SPOUT ON ONE OF THE ADJACENT. THE HORIZONTAL WOODEN BEENS ARE A CONTINUATION OF THE CEILING OF THE THE BUILDING THAT CREATS A SENSATION OF BEING INDOORS. WATER FOUNTAINS AND OFFSET WALLS PREVENT THE NOISE FROM THE BUISY STREET TO TRAVEL INTO THE PREFORMANCE AREA. THE LOCATION COUNTS WITH TWO ENTRANCE AND INCLUDES ACCESABILITY FOR ADA. PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO OVER SEE THE CIRCULATION OF PEOPLE WHILE STANDING ON A DECK AND ENJOING PRODUCTS FROM THE VENDING AREA. OVERALL THE LOUNGE IS TO REMOVE VISITORS FROM THE BUISY LIFESTYLE OF A CITY.

EUREKA SPRINGS ARTS BUILDING AS ONE ENTERS AND FOLLOWS THE PATHS OF EUREKA SPRINGS WE CAN ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROCESS IN WHICH THE TOWN MAKES YOU RETURN TO AN ERA BEFORE YOURS. THE TOWN IS FULL OF ARCHITECTURAL DETAIL DESCRIBING THE HISTORY AND DETAILING A STYLE OF LIFE. FOR THIS FEATURE PROJECT THE IDEA OF COMPLEMENTING WHILE MAINTAIN THOSE ELEMENTS IS THE PRIMARILY TASK. THIS PROJECTS WISHES TO CREATE AN EVENT/PERFORMANCE CENTER THAT WILL FIT IN THE GRID OF THE EXISTING LOCATION’S SURROUNDINGS AND GIVE IT A SENSE OF MODERNISM. THE DESIGN WILL EXPOSÉ ELEMENTS AND USE THEM IN THE DESIGN IN ORDER TO DEMONSTRATE THE HISTORY AND TOPOGRAPHY OF THE AREA. IT IS IMPORTANT TO USE ELEMENTS THAT HELP IDENTIFIED EUREKA SPRINGS AND USE THEM FOR INTERACTION PURPOSES, RHYTHM AND MATERIALS. THE MATERIALS THAT THIS DESIGN WISHES TO INCORPORATE TO THIS DESIGN ARE THOSE BEING USE IN THE SURROUNDING PROJECTS AND ADDING ADDITIONAL MATERIALS TO GIVE IT A MODERN TOUCH TO THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR. SOME OF THE INCORPORATION OF NEW MATERIALS WILL BE STONE AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF STEELS. IN REGARDS TO THE RHYTHM AND FORMS, THE PROJECT WISHES TO CHANGE THE DYNAMIC OF THE CONSTANT DOMINANCE OF VERTICALITY TO HORIZONTALITY AND VISE VERSA WITH THE HORIZONTAL ELEMENTS. AS THE WHOLE TOWN DOES A GREAT JOB OF WRAPPING AND PULLING PEDESTRIANS AWAY FROM THE STREETS, THIS PROJECT WILL PURSUIT THE IDEA OF CREATING PATHS THAT VISITORS WILL BE ATTRACTED TO FOLLOW. FULL OF LIFE AND DETAIL CONTOURS THE SITE EXPLODES OF LIFE, WHICH WILL TRANSLATE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE BUILDING AND THE ATMOSPHERE THAT THE PROJECT DESIRES TO PORTRAY. AS ONE TRAVELS IN THE INNER AREAS OF THE PROJECT, ONE WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE WOOD ENLARGE THE HORIZONTAL LINES INTERRUPTED BY THIN VERTICAL MATERIALS. THE MATERIAL WILL REFLECT INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR ELEMENTS INCREASING THE TRANSITION OF TRAVEL PATH. THIS PROJECT WILL ALLOW MAXIMIZING THE CONNECTION BETWEEN MATERIALS AND ELEMENTS, BETWEEN ELEMENTS AND CIRCULATION. THE MAGNITUDE OF VIEW WILL BE GREAT IN ORDER TO CREATE A SENSE OF AN OPEN FLOOR AND TO ENJOY OF INTERACTION WITH BUILDING WHILE ENJOYING THE SCENERY. THE DESIGN WILL ALLOW TO PROVIDE A FEELING OF COMFORT AND BELONGING TO THE AREA WHILE ENJOYING THE BENEFITS OF A MODERN STYLE.
