PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY Ambitious and conscientious RIBA chartered Architect, qualified and registered with ARB since 2009. In my architectural career thus far, I have worked for several reputable London based offices including internationally renowned, Eva Jiricna Architects. I’m currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster, while exploring a PhD research of the great Nigerian architect and professor Demas Nwoko’s work. I’m keen to explore opportunities in practice, teaching, researching, writing, and engaging with Africa and the Diaspora on matters relating to culture, rural and urbanism. Previously, I assisted the work of ArchiAfrika in Ghana, on a conservation and heritage guideline for a Tropical Modernist building. In recent years, I’ve managed JU:KO Designs Ltd. This fledging private practice, an exciting design-focussed enterprise, has produced a progressive archive in private residence, national competitions, interiors, hospitality sectors both in East Africa and London. I’ve architectural experiences in residential, commercial, major office refurbishment, mixed-used and retail sectors. My career is richly inspired by Eva Jiricna and Pierre D’Avoine both long-term friends and mentors. Social responsibilities to, ‘pay it forward’, has led to participation in tutorials, interim and final ‘critic’ sessions at the Bartlett and University of Westminster. Additionally, I’ve mentored five people who have successfully completed their RIBA Part 3, becoming qualified architects. I had an intrigue and when the opportunity presented itself, I researched and wrote an architectural piece commissioned online for the Guardian, first-of-its-kind: “Around Africa in 10 Buildings”, directed by Joe Harker during ‘Week in Africa’ series.
