KSU is committed not only to represent students on a national level, but also to encourage student activism and participation in University and as members of society. Year after year, KSU comes up with many proposals for a better University for everyone and it is thanks to the support we receive from our corporate partners that these projects come to life and are able to fulfil their potential.

Events Il-Majjalata
Battle of the Bands
Drive-in Cinema
This will be replacing the yearly “Organisation’s BBQ”, which is a free event for members of student organisations. The usual turnout is that of around 250 students who come together for a night of good food, drinks and music at the University Quadrangle.
This will be a great opportunity for student bands to showcase their talents. We are looking to pool some of the most talented local students to compete head to head. Festa Campus
The KSU Drive-in Cinema is an event which has over the years grown in popularity, with an estimated 400 people attending last year’s edition, which took on a Halloween theme. Two films were chosen by attendees beforehand, which were shown on a big screen at the University gravel pitch.
Sports League & Sports Fest
Car Treasure Hunt
The Sports League will take the form of a football tournament, running over the course of several weeks. The Sports Fest is a largescale event spread over a few days, where students, academics and staff may all participate in a number of sports such as tag rugby, long distance running, basketball, amongst other activities.
The seventh edition of The KSU Car Treasure Hunt will be held in November. Around 200 students took part last year and spent a day touring the island and completing challenges, in the hopes of collecting the most points and claiming the grand prize. All completed challenges have to be shared on social media platforms to be deemed valid, increasing greatly the reach of the event, which is surely one of the most highly anticipated events in KSU’s calendar.
6
Festa Campus The KSU Campus Fest has been an event organised throughout the years with the purpose of kicking off the academic year by bringing together freshers and returning students alike. This year, the concept will be once again changed, as every year Campus Fest is re-thought putting new ideas into reality and we plan to do so with the help of the student organisations themselves too.

Graduation Ball
Ready Steady Cook
International Trip
KSU is once again keeping its yearly Grad Ball appointment in December, and has previously hosted it at the Intercontinental Malta in St. Julian’s and most recently at the Radisson Golden Sands in Għajn Tuffieħa. This event has built a solid reputation over the years, and is eagerly awaited by students and graduates alike, making it one of KSU’s biggest events. Efficient bars, live music and the usual choice of such a great venue make for an unforgettable event, year after year.
Ready Steady Cook is a cooking competition held in March, where teams of students will battle it out in the kitchen and show off their culinary skills. This is another event which is picking up popularity since it offers a platform and is a great opportunity for cooking enthusiasts.
Once again, KSU shall be organizing both an EU and a nonEU International Trip, with the aim of exposing students to different cultures, which can ultimately broaden their perspective and outlook on life
Adventure Trek The KSU Adventure Trek is a new addition to our calendar of events and will consist of a 15km trek around a rural area of our island.
Student’s Fest Arts Showcase The KSU Arts Showcase is a new concept looking to promote the academic works of artists in the University community. The aim of this event will be to publicly display the efforts of the array of arts which students work on throughout their studies, this also includes works of language, digital arts and many others.

Students’ Fest is one of the most highly anticipated events of KSU. Yearly, we embark on a theatrical journey with efforts of over 300 students working to put up a show of professional standard. The dedication, drive and enthusiasm is what ultimately makes Students’ Fest what it has become known to be. Preparation for the production starts after the January exam period with the production team to establish casting, song choice, and rehearsal scheduling. Some 800 people attend to watch the show every night.

Green Initiatives The KSU Park & Ride As one of our proposals to tackle the transport and parking problem on campus, KSU has identified three main locations with the highest rates of private car use towards the University of Malta and is currently working to offer a park and ride service towards University from these localities. Kindly get in touch for our detailed proposal for more information.
Motorcycle Open Day & Lesson Subsidies
Pedelec Open Day & Subsidies
Following last year’s successful event, KSU will this year be expanding on the initiative by organizing three open days at University where students would be able to try out a motorcycle with a certified instructor. Those who decide to pursue the 10 hour motorcycle permit course will get a 50% refund from KSU.
Similarly to the motorcycle open days, we plan on offering students the opportunity to try out a pedelec (a type of electric bike) whilst offering a subsidy on their purchase together with the existing government grants and VAT rebate, to make cycling a more accessible and affordable option for all.
Freshers’ Week Sustainability Project With Freshers’ Week just around the corner, preparations for the hectic week are in full swing and we have decided to adopt an environmentally-friendly theme, which will reflect not only in the branding of the event but also in the freebies we have chosen and associated campaigns. Kindly get in touch for our detailed proposal for more information.
