The Center for Nursing & Health The Center for Nursing and Health Careers Continuing Education at Capital Community College offers extensive programs for nurses and health care personnel. Programs are designed to provide both entry-level job preparation and updates to enhance clinical practice and develop personal and professional growth. In addition, we offer specialized programs, such as State Board Review, to meet the needs of newly graduated nurses, and a Nurse Re-Entry Course, designed for nurses contemplating a return to the workforce or a clinically focused position. Entry- level job training is available for those interested in becoming a Nurse Aide, Emergency Medical Technician, Pharmacy Technician or obtaining a position in Infection Control or Staff Development. A wide option of topics and learning formats is presented, including single sessions, e-learning, lecture series, and more comprehensive programs with hands-on learning in a lab or clinical setting. The Customer Service Institute of Connecticut The Customer Service Institute of Connecticut (CSIC) at Capital Community College is the only public Customer Service Training facility in all of New England. CSIC is comprised of three programs: The Customer Service Program, Literacy Skills Development and Investment Securities Exam Prep. The CSIC, in addition to serving individual students, partners with businesses and is able to adapt courses for each organization’s specific requirements. Customer Service Program The Customer Service Program is an entrylevel, non-credit customer service training certificate program for those seeking a career in
the rapidly growing field of customer service. The program prepares, supports and places students into jobs with career potential in numerous fields, including financial services, consumer products, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, travel, tourism and hospitality. Literacy Skills Development The non-credit Literacy Program is a five-week program designed for individuals seeking basic literacy skills in English, Math, and Keyboarding. These minimum skills are needed by individuals seeking admissions into the Customer Service Program, as well as the Certified Nurse Aide Program.
Investment Securities Exam Prep Investment Securities Exam Prep Program prepares students to pass various national NASD Securities Exams sponsored by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). Individuals seeking work in Investment Securities markets must pass appropriate NASD Exams to become licensed to sell, service, market and support various levels of investment securities products. Our seasoned instructors share their real-world investment experience with students in a comfortable small group setting. The oneon-one attention can make a significant difference in exam scores.
