In Victor Arzate Design International, my main responsibilities were in hotel branding, signage and way-finding design. I have acquired expertise in liaising with international 5-star hotels, such as Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Waldorf Astoria and The Peninsula.
Holiday Inn Golden Mile was one of my clients when I worked for the Brand Mill. The hotel offers business and leisure travellers a vibrant location, contemporary conveniences, and all the luxuries of home while away. My role was to provide support for their marketing team where I designed and updated their F&B Collaterals, Newsletters and Event Brochures monthly.
Within Holiday Inn Golden Mile they have four restaurants: Bistro on the Mile, Osteria, Loong Yuen and Hari’s. Above are a few examples of the posters I designed. After designing the templates my responsibility was to apply a new hero image and insert the given content for the posters. Bistro on the Mile is unique compared to the others; the colours are alternated according to the theme or the image, the decision I made was because that’s the only restaurant that doesn’t have a solid brand colour scheme. Besides the F&B posters, I also designed their menus and promotional posters for both printing and web usage.
Every Christmas, Holiday Inn like other hotels, have a brochure designed to show their special events, seasonal menus and hampers. In the year 2018, the theme was Sparkling Christmas. All photos were taken by my boss, who is a talented photographer. To support the photographs, I provided a mood board and sketches for his approval. After the photoshoot, I edited the photos and designed the background with the sparkling lights.
Chinese New Year Pudding is a traditional dish we served for our New Year. Turnip pudding is made using grated Chinese white turnip, rice and wheat flour, Chinese dried sausage and seasoning. For the coupon, I used Chinese motifs to draw the eye of the viewers. The aim is to have a grand outlook and not be over the top, which is what l achieved in the above designs.
WorldFirst is a Fin-tech company that provides solutions for international payments, global exchange and e-commerce businesses. My role in the company was an in-house designer giving support for all our offices in the Asia Pacific region including: Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Australia, Korea and Japan. In the office I was under the marketing department and was actively designing for both media in print (brochures, leaflets, business cards) and web (e-calendar, web banners, editing youtube tutorials). I was also given a role as a CMS editor, where I have used WordPress to edit website pages and compose newsletters for both the Japan and Korea offices.
The Pricing Campaign is a project to show our discounted promotion, after developing concepts and mood boards for my clients in China, Japan and Korea. As a mock-up, these graphics give my clients an idea of how they will look in an open space. The hero images of China and Japan are sourced by Adobe Stock and the ad for the Korean team is drawn to meet their requirements. These visuals are later translated to Landing Pages, Leaflets, OnePagers, EDMs and Web banners.
This brochure is to promote the company’s global bank account and foreign exchange. It also provides statistics, board member and client reviews for the company. I am responsible to design its layout, draw the icon and source the stock images.
Above are some web visuals made when we collaborated with Google, this is a task from Singapore and the aim is to lure retailers to invest in the Google merchant program. To achieve this I have studied the colour scheme and the eco-system of Google to deliver this detailed graphic. Personally, I am a big fan of their minimalist design and it has been a pleasure to draw and design the banner layout for a company service I constantly use and admired.
Throughout the year, WorldFirst has collaborated with different companies and these OnePagers are to advertise their e-commerce services. After reading the brief, I generated the ideas and illustrations for the colour scheme accordingly to their brands. I have also included a space for clients to insert their unique QR codes.
In WorldFirst, I have been involved with CMS projects where I have composed websites and e-mail templates using WordPress. During this time I was given a UI brief about rebranding the homepage, as my boss thought the old website was rather bland. To resolve that, I used the vibrant red of the brand colour for the hero graphics, buttons and footer. Adding the stroke helps to emphasise the content and icons. The feedback has been positive and we have been using the page for a while.
Pace Centre is a venue that provides quality ABA services in a nurturing and supportive environment, in which their children can overcome any hurdles they encounter and reach their fullest potential. My service mainly involved support for its branding including logo, font pairing, business cards and other marketing collateral designs.

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of models. sentence structures to generate. Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable.

These are few elements I provided for Pace’s branding. After discussions from our meeting, we decided on the brand colour and the fonts, the sharp colours and rounded fonts are to draw the eye of the children. The first logo design was a smaller format and we later decided to create a bigger format with the shoes and the motif of the walking steps.v

Other marketing designs are then morphed from the logo and are mostly themed towards the dots and their colours. The branding later inspired the colour scheme within the companies office interior.
After living in Brighton for over 8 years, I decided to create this self initiated project. I revisited the city and have used their architectures and elements to invent a digital typography.
The lettering is based on the sign on the side of the Brighton Palace Pier. I have worked around the shape of the letters to align the width and height of the sign. As the letter is wider due to the detailing of the Royal Pavilion, all letters have been shifted a little to the right hand side. It is a small compromise to be made which once completed does look rather pleasing on the eye.
Brighton Pier was established in 1899 and is located next to the beach. It is popular for rides, arcades, food and souvenir stalls. At night, it is illuminated by 67,000 bulbs. The font I chose is the sign from the side of the pier, an iconic view while chilling on the beach.
Along the seafront, there is a Railing that extends from Brighton to Hove. This iconic light turquoise is also applied to the light stands. It is a favourite spot for runners and walkers. For my letter R, I have taken 3 different photos to juxtapose the letter.
The Royal Pavilion was first built in 1781 by King George IV as his seaside retreat. In 1815, the King commissioned John Nash to transform his villa into the magnificent Oriental Palace we see today. This is also well known as a graduation venue for Universities and I was one of the students who graduated in their garden. The Dome has a likeness to the tittle of the letter i and it illustrate the ornament of the letter effortlessly.
Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. was founded in 1901 with a nickname “The Seagulls”. They were promoted to the Premier League for the first time in 2017 and moved to the newly built Amex stadium in 2011. The pattern of the letter G is inspired by their football kit and the seagull is the symbol for their logo.
Queens Park was built in 1825 and it was named after Queen Adelaide, consort of William IV. The arc and the legs gave me an impression of the letter H. I used to live adjacent to the park and the arc was a view I constantly gazed at looking outside my window.
The Bandstand was constructed in 1884. It is still considered to be one of the finest victorian bandstands surviving in England today. The ornate venue is available to hire for weddings and ceremonies. After studying the structure, I decided to eliminate the columns to form the letter T.
The Golden Gallopers
Carousel is part of the Brighton Palace Pier and it was built in 1888. In 1997 the victorian styled carousel was bought and renovated by Owen Smith. The word gallopers meant that the horses are usually four feet off the ground, unlike the “jumpers” that move up and down. The carousel forms a perfect oval for the letter O and the horse is adjusted to fit in the counter of the O.
The Duke of York’s Picture House is Britain’s oldest purpose-built cinema. The Edwardian Picture Palace was first opened in 1910. The iconic 20ft dancing legs on the rooftop were originally from “Not the Moulin Rouge Theatre” in Oxford and were restored to the Picture house in 1991. The Cinema later partnered with Komedia and the block of text worded as ‘Cinema” was taken from that building.
