The Brief
‘You are invited to design a cover look for The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole to bring this much-loved classic to a new generation of readers. The design should ensure that this original and hilariously funny book remains a must-read for every child.’
My Approach
I aim to produce a cover that appeals to a new generation readers while staying true to the character, tone and themes of the book. The cover should combine illustration and text into a cohesive composition. The cover should be fun and bold to match the narrative of the book and be based around Adrian Mole and his observations of the world around him.

Development I experimented with a variety of compositions based on the realtionship between Adrian Mole and how he sees the world around him. I found it challenging to incorporate the large amount of text that the brief stated needed to be included on the front and back covers
