Jose Plehn Dujowich is the esteemed CEO, Chief Data Officer, and Founder of BrightQuery (BQ) and BQ AI. His impressive career spans over a decade of collaboration with major U.S. statistical agencies such as the IRS, Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Small Business Administration (SBA). His expertise covers a vast array of areas, including economics, finance, data analytics, employment, payroll, financial and credit ratings, industrial organization, and artificial intelligence (AI). In 2019, he launched BrightQuery with the mission to deliver comprehensive firmographics, financials, corporate family trees, and legal information concerning the U.S. economy. This expansive dataset includes details on over 100 million legal entities, 70 million organizations, 150 million employees and business owners, and 250 million locations, all sourced from regulatory, tax, and legal filings, including the IRS, Department of Labor, SBA, SEC, and upwards of 80,000 governmental jurisdictions. BrightQuery is set to celebrate its fifth anniversary in December 2024. 2023 marked the inception of BQ AI, an ambitious project to create a super-intelligence focused on the global economy, starting with the U.S. This initiative involves building a complex economic model from the ground up, integrating data from various levels of economic activity to provide both a micro and macro view of economic dynamics. His work is prominently supported by the National Science Fund (NSF), where he directs three significant projects. One notable project, "AI-Ready Data Products to Facilitate Discovery and Use," investigates how a future National Secure Data Service (NSDS) could enhance the accessibility and usability of statistical data for AI applications, aiding federal agencies and their collaborators in optimizing their use of generative AI technologies.
