Accidential Publisher ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION WE HAVE AN APP FOR THAT By: Michael T. “Josh” Fuller Good Gosh! Call Josh 1-855-320-7467 I Read on Facebook recently that somebody is creating an app that will help people trying to come to our country illegally. Somebody has been smoking their Tide Pods. I mean, this opens up a whole new line for discussion. I get that USA is the land of milk and honey. I understand and sympathize with those looking for a hand up and not a hand out, however, here are a few things to consider. First of all, how about making your own country great? Improve conditions where you live. Another thing to consider, If it’s an app what’s to keep border patrol units from monitoring the app? It would make their job a lot easier. I don’t know if you understand how expensive it can be to become a citizen of the good old USA, but maybe that is part of the problem. I mean, I get it that somebody has to pay for it , but $3,000 for a immigration attorney is just absurd, or at the very least highway robbery. Another problem financially speaking is how much it costs to hire a coyote to spirit somebody into this country. Like I’ve always said, follow the money trail. Let’s take another step back and think about one thing I’ve already covered. Making one’s own country great again. You think corrupti0on is bad in this country? Try to make a difference in any other country and you’ll soon find out what real corruption is like real quick. Remember, in other countries your guilty until proven
innocent, not innocent until proven guilty. There have been plenty of people who wanted to make a change to a democratic type of government, only to never be heard from agin. Heck, of you don’t go along to get along in Cuba, they still take you to the sugar cain fields and you may, or may not be heard from again for eternity. How’s that for your “civil rights”, being violated? CNN is touting no less than five apps, apps that help people stay here even if they aren’t here leagilly. That’s not to say there aren’t some good apps for this problem. For example, The Mobile Passport app authorized by the US Government speeds you through U.S. Customs and Border Protection a lot quicker than you might imagine. It can be used at one cruise port and twenty four airports. This app is also being made available in conjuction with Airport Council International. find this app at https://
mobilepassport.us. There’s even a new smartphone app named A new app warns undocumented Americans (or people who are rightfully worried they might be accused of being one) about anti-immigrant raids so they can flee before the immigration forces come for them. Called RedadAlertas, or Raid Alerts, the app uses verified, crowdsourced data to sound the alarm. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you want to come to the US and be part of the solution and not part of the problem, more power to you. Come on in brothers ad sisters, you’ll get nothing but respect from me. However, don’t come here just to get on the gravy train and not contribute, we don’t like that in the good old USA! The United States has been the top destination for international migrants since at least 1960, with one-fifth of the world’s migrants living there as of 2017. Despite its long history of immigration, the United States has oscillated between perceiving

The 2016 election and significant actions on immigration taken by the Trump administration have further raised the issue in political and public debates. Even more than before, immigration is closely tied to discussions about the U.S. economy and global competitiveness, national security, and the country’s role in humanitarian protection at a time of record global displacement. It’s a complex questIon and there are no easy answers. DAVE SAYS Layoff Insurance? Dear Dave, Some of the people I work with have been buying into a new kind of supplemental insurance that protects against layoffs. It costs about $30 a month per person, and the full payout if you’re laid off is $9,000. It seems to me you would have to be paying in for a long time to see that kind of return, so I wanted to see how you feel about this kind of thing. Steve
Dear Steve, Anytime insurance is there for something you could cover yourself, it’s a good idea to stop and remember that every insurance company is still a business. They must cover all the costs of operation, plus make a profit. Believe me, that takes a lot of money. Statistically speaking, if lots of people cashed in on a policy like this an insurance company would go out of business. We’re
talking about only $30 a month to cover $9,000. That alone tells you not many people cash in. It’s gimmick insurance. On average, you’re losing money when you buy insurance of any kind. Again, on average, over the scope of your lifetime you’d be better off simply saving money and self-insuring against things like this. The only things I recommend buying insurance for are things you can’t afford to cover personally. But you can afford to cover a layoff by saving an emergency fund of three to six months of expenses. If I’m in your shoes, Steve, I’m not buying that stuff. —Dave

Keep It In Your Own Pocket
Dear Dave, I just filed taxes, and it looks like I’ll get a pretty big refund this year. A friend of mine told me I should adjust my withholding, so I don’t get a refund. This seems pretty dumb to me. Why would I change my withholdings when I’m getting money back? James Dear James, The only reason you’re getting a refund is because you had too much taken out of your paychecks in 2017. Let’s say your refund is $3,500. Basically, you loaned the government $3,500 of your own money, interest-free. A refund isn’t a gift or re-
ward, James. It’s your own cash that you get back because you paid in too much during the previous year. In your case, that adds up to almost $300 a month! Instead of loaning the government money that you worked hard to earn, wouldn’t it be a better idea to keep it in your own pocket? —Dave * Dave Ramsey is CEO of Ramsey Solutions. He has authored seven best-selling books, including The Total Money Makeover. The Dave Ramsey Show is heard by more than 13 million listeners each week on 585 radio stations and multiple digital platforms. Follow Dave on the web at daveramsey.

SAFETY ON THE ROAD
(NAPSI)—A few simple steps protect your family and loved ones. You may be driving a vehicle with a defective driver’s side air bag, passenger’s side air bag or both. If you have one of the following vehicles, please call your local Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram dealership to schedule a FREE repair: The Problem Here’s why: According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 34 million vehicles have defective air bags, which can cause serious injury or death in the event of a crash. Even a minor fender bender can cause these air bags to explode, spraying metal fragments into drivers and passengers. A Solution Fortunately, there is a solution, repairs are FREE and Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealerships have plenty of new air bags available to replace them. You don’t even have to take the vehicle back to the same dealership from which you bought it; any authorized dealer can make the free repairs. Learn More
For further facts, or if you are not sure whether your vehicle is part of this, you can: 1. Go to recalls.mopar.com and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), found on the driver’s side dashboard near the windshield or the inside driver’s side door.
2. Get in touch with your Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or Ram dealership. 3. Call the dedicated toll-free number: (866) 220-6765. Se habla espanol.

Vacation Home Rentals: Tips For First-Timers (NAPSI)—According to a survey by HomeAway®, the world leader in vacation rentals, more than 90 percent of people say that vacation is very important to them. Yet half of leisure travelers who wanted to take a trip in 2017 did not, primarily because they didn’t think they could afford it. Costs can add up quickly, especially for big families and other large groups that book multiple hotel rooms. Savvy travelers are finding other ways to stay, from rediscovering the great outdoors through camping to renting cabins, beach houses and even boat houses. Vacation homes offer the gamut of options that won’t break the bank, while providing amenities that hotels and other types of lodging often can’t, from private pools to bikes in the garage. “The perception that renting a home is ex-

pensive is one of the top reasons people don’t do it,” said Melanie Fish, travel expert for HomeAway, referencing findings by Phocuswright, a leading travel research firm. “However, renting a vacation home can often be more affordable per person than booking multiple hotel rooms. Plus, you get more space and privacy.” Phocuswright’s research also revealed that only one-third of Americans have stayed in a vacation rental. “There are still so many people who haven’t experienced all the joy and benefits of renting a home for vacation, for many of whom it will become a habit, based on our data,” added Fish. She offers these tips for first-timers: • From beach houses to cabins to condos, there are millions of homes to choose from—start with a trusted site like VRBO.com and take full advantage of the search filters to narrow results to custom-tailor your experience. • Each vacation home is unique, so find one that fits the needs of your family. Fancy kitchen or BBQ grill? Big-screen TV or a pool? Bunk beds or a crib? There’s something for everyone. • Get the best booking experience—look for listings with the Premier Partner badge
to ensure a quick response, competitive rates, great photos of the listing and more. • Know what you’re getting into—read the vacation rental contract before submitting payment to understand cancellation policies, occupancy limits, pet restrictions, etc. • Protect yourself— book with sites that offer protections and guarantees to guard against something unexpected happening before or during your vacation.
