Cooling Towers Cooling towers are a prominent feature on the British horizon. These huge convex structures marked both rural and urban landscapes, and have done so for decades. The towers are often found in power plants, factories and chemical plants. Its basic function is to remove excess heat. In a chemical plant, for example, certain processes may generate excess heat.
