opular culture is generally recognized by members of a society as a set of ractices, beliefs, artistic output and objects that are dominant or prevalent in a ociety at a given point in time. Popular culture also encompasses the activities nd feelings produced as a result of interaction with these dominant objects.
Original jazz to rock and roll, popular entertainment provided by films, radio, television, ‘tabloid’ newspapers and the comics. Popular films with current heroes of the youth; Elvis Presley, Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe, later Beatles and James bond. Cult objects of popular preference that included denim jeans, Vespa, coca cola, hamburgers, large hand like chairs or lamps etc Visual communication, graphic design was the preferred mode of expression.
