ABOUT
HELLO. My name is Joshua Navea. I am from Zaragoza, Spain (1996). I am passionate about art, current events, photography and graphic design. Start studying at the Art School, where you can learn basic drawing techniques to do any illustration or work. Also the state involved in the themes of sculpture and modeling, which is a very useful art that you can modify for creating posters, especially picture books. At the moment, I am studying Graphic Design at the Escuela Superior de DiseĂąo de AragĂłn, ESDA, and my Erasmus meeting at Plymouth College of Art, PCA. I mainly dedicate myself to the creation of brands, corporate identities, magazine design, packaging, illustrations and lettering. On the other hand, I like fashion and I find it interesting to be able to design patterns or illustrations that fashion designers can then use on canvas. I am also an actor, and I have made many plays, musicals, video clips and various short films.
In this portfolio, you will find some pieces from the projects that I developed. I really hope you enjoy all my work!

Wall Paper
For this project, a series of papers are designed to wallpaper restaurants or a series of canvases that the client can use depending on the theme. In this way, you can use various designs if you have more than one different store to follow
the same line and style, such as: a Japanese restaurant, a seafood restaurant and a coffee shop. Regarding the design, firstly the contours of each illustration were made with Chinese ink and finally digitally worked with oil textures.

The Red Wolf
Mainly, the aim is to create the appearance of the character from sketches with different results until reaching the final one. This illustration seeks to be striking and recognized before the children’s public; for that reason the different emotions are generated that
the main character will be able to show in the story. The illustrations were made with watercolor waxes and wood paints. In addition, with polymer clay, the character was modeled in 3D, adding textures, color and volume.
ILLUSTRATION

Nebula
Nebula, is the creation of a cosmos wine brand that is made up of 3 types of wine called: of Jupiter, of the Moon, and of Mars. These wines follow the design of the same aesthetic, with the planets of each one. In the background in purple tones, there is a nebula design, each one determined for each of the designs. Just below the main information and for each planet or satellite is the word “limited special edition”, along with the name of each wine. In the case of
“Garnacha Syrah” it is a smooth, powerful, fruity and good wine flavor, it is represented by the Jupiter design. On the other hand, the “Tempranillo” a very young smooth wine that is usually the national star, has the design of the Moon. Finally, the “Cabernet Sauvignon” a traditional wine with a strong flavor, maintains the design of Mars. All of them, the types of wines are related to the colors of the planet or satellite depending on their composition and flavor.
ILLUSTRATION
The design always has to match, the boxes keep the nebula’s background illustration together with their corresponding designs.

PHOTOGRAPHY
PHOTOGRAPHY Photography is the art and technique of obtaining durable images due to the action of light, it is the process of projecting images and capturing them, either by fixing them in a lightsensitive medium or by converting them into electronic signals. This phenomenon that exists since 1826 has been in charge of transmitting and showing what was happening at a certain moment and keeping it in a fixed image for life. Normally through photographs we transmit emotions, feelings, situations, memories, etc. So I ask myself, what is photography more than capturing and expressing emotions, feelings, besieges, memories ...? Could we live without the existence of photographs? I think not, since we would never see something that we liked again, we could know what things were like before or look for a simple photographed object. In this case, below, a series of photographs taken of my friend Ashleigh Choules, showing everything indicated above.

Visual poetry
Nowadays, through design, an attempt is made to convey a current theme, concept or criticism. Therefore, in this case “visual poetry” is about 3 postcards that follow the same style in sepia, represented with everyday objects that have been photographed. NEWSPAPERS: Every day we get the news as food, “we eat it” and we believe it. In reality it is what they want society to think and create what they tell us subliminally.
COWBOY: Relating to our ancestors and animals, we still have that warning vision which makes us identify faces or people in figures. In this case, a poor wounded cowboy, tired of opening cans.

SHARK: Who would not want to have the strength of a shark? The power of their mouth, in their part of grip, simulate a mouth similar to that of sharks and with extraordinary strength. So be careful not to get bitten.

CD Starboy is a project for the singer “The Weeknd covering the design of his Starboy album, along with the lyrics of the songs. The design of each song has been developed using experimental typography, including on some pages silhouettes related to the video clips and
lyrics of the song through the Gestalt figureground principle. The colors used for the entire brochure (red, blue, and yellow), the headline typography, and the background texture are inspired by the original CD cover.

CENTROTAL
Centrotal is a garden center in Zaragoza. They were looking for the layout of the main store brochure. This was my proposal made in duotone printed on a recyclable textured paper.
It is a cross brochure forming 8 pages, in the main part you will find all the information along with dotted images. Being a reusable brochure on the back it has another use from a 2020 calendar.
PUBLICATION DESIGN
“Most of the time you have to think about what the second utility of a design may be, so that in this way, the customer is more satisfied with the product giving it another utility.

Babel magazine Babel is a new magazine for design, art, architecture, literature, cinema, music and technology. This is the proposal made for number one, taking inspiration from “The Tower of Babel by Pieter Brueghel the Elder.
Legend has it that it was a great construction mentioned in the Old Testament. According to some interpretations, the men intended, with the construction of this tower, to reach Heaven. According to the Bible, God, to avoid the success of the building, caused the builders to start speaking different languages and scattered throughout the Earth as they are known today. It was a tower of wisdom and knowledge.
Pieter Bruegel the Elder - The Tower of Babel (Vienna) For this reason, the figure of the tower built by the different letters that form the word BABEL has been reinterpreted, with the shape of a building in volume. It is made in pastel colors, so that it can be useful for any of the topics included in this magazine.

TEXT. In our society we live with phrases and words that surround us and we see them everywhere. Sometimes they even have a double meaning and they convey something determined according to the design, the position of the words or phrases. In this case, this design is a simple text with four words more or less of the same number of letters, so that it generates harmony and concordance. This picture refers to the fact that generally there are many unfaithful, false, lying people who tend to deceive another person, almost always the other person does not usually find out about it. Hence the creation of this poster in pastel pink with the phrase: “More love and less lies.

Naven Gothic
Design of a new typography of modernized old Gothic origin. The name chosen for this typeface “Naven Gothic” arose from the first surname of the author Joshua “Navea”. Subsequently, the word “Gothic” was added to represent the style of typography. Currently this font is only in lowercase letters built with glyphs and diacritics.
