10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Honors Program Open House @ Nunemaker Center All honors students are invited to the Nunemaker Center on Daisy Hill for refreshments and snacks during move-in. 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Music Theory Placement Exam @ Murphy Hall The Music Theory exam, which includes written and ear-training components, is required for transfer music students who have not completed a four-semester music theory sequence with an accredited NASM school. Freshmen music students may take the exam if they have had extensive study in music theory and wish to see if they can place higher than Music Theory I for their first semester at KU. 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM Keyboard Skills Placement Exam @ Murphy Hall Appointments must be scheduled in advance with Dr. Scott McBride-Smith, 304 Murphy Hall, 785-

This is offered to music majors, except for piano emphasis students, who believe they can place out of the beginning keyboard skills course. 8:30 PM – 10:30 PM SUA Rock Chalk Block Party @ Kansas Union It's your first night on campus and Student Union Activities (SUA) and the Kansas Union want to welcome you in a BIG way! You will enjoy floors of games and prizes, sample free food in The Market, bowl for free in the Jaybowl and make sure to be on the lookout for the prize patrol! There will be hundreds of dollars in prizes and giveaways as you travel throughout the Kansas Union for hours of fun. Welcome to KU! 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Common Book Team Trivia @ Watson Library Stop by KU Libraries' open house to meet and mingle with fellow KU students and the librarians and staff who are here to help you succeed at KU. Did you read the Common Book, Notes from No Man's Land, over the summer? Do you wonder what Notes from No Man's Land is about and why you should read it? Show off your knowledge and win prizes or cheer on contestants in a Common Book team trivia contest. Or just stop by to meet people and have some refreshments between classes. 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM ECM Welcome Back BBQ @ ECM Center BBQ for vegetarians and omnivores along with encouragement to meet other students and faculty and staff. Super Service Saturday @ Kansas Union Join the Center for Community Outreach as we "start here, reach out!" Students will meet at the Kansas Union for lunch and information about student service groups on campus. Then they will be bussed to various campus and community locations to volunteer with their desired volunteering organization. Free t-shirt and lunch included! 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM Frosh Frenzy @ Eaton hall An "Amazing Race" inspired scavenger hunt including mental and physical tasks at different locations all around campus. Freshman will work in teams to complete the race and win awesome prizes! 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Student Veterans Meet and Greet @ Burge Union An opportunity for veterans transitioning to KU to meet current student veterans, as well as faculty

and staff that work with veterans on campus. Information about veteran groups and services at KU will be available. Pizza and drinks will be provided, and veterans are free to come and go throughout the evening. Families are welcome too! 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Rockin’ on Learned Lawn @ Eaton Hall Held in conjunction with Frosh Frenzy, there will be music, BBQ food, prize giveaways, and a chance to interact with staff, faculty, and other new freshmen.
