Vodafone Malta has appointed Ms Sheila Kavanagh as its new Chief Technology Officer. Ms Kavanagh brings with her over fifteen years' experience in the telecoms industry and has held a number of key positions at Vodafone Ireland since 2004, more recently in senior management positions within the Technology function. In 2012 she was appointed Head of Networks in which post she was responsible for the design, development and operation of Vodafone Ireland's network. Ms Kavanagh implemented a number of transformational projects during her time in Ireland, including the launch of HD Voice, Dual Carrier 3G, 4G and 4G advanced. The implementation of these projects all required close collaboration with other functions within Vodafone Ireland, giving Ms Kavanagh a broad perspective of the different business facets of the telecoms industry. just two years. Further substantial investment is now planned to ensure that Vodafone Malta's network is primed to offer an excellent customer experience, particularly with regards to the growing demand for mobile data, and in line with the increasing trend towards the convergence of fixed and mobile services. This investment follows Vodafone Group's global focus on networks and services across all its markets in recent years, an investment totalling over EUR 23 billion euros in the last two years alone.

GO readies CHOGM venues Friday, 20 November 2015, 16:19
GO is installing 125 super fast fibre internet connections of up to and beyond 1 Gigabit in multiple venues across Malta ahead of the CHOGM. These connections will carry the huge telephony as well as fixed and mobile internet demands expected during the entire event which starts on 21 November with the Youth Forum and ends on 29 November following the Heads of Government Meeting and retreat at Fort St Angelo. In addition to Fort St Angelo, the venues to which GO will be providing direct point to point fibre services include the Mediterranean Conference Centre, which will host the CHOGM opening ceremony, various hotels which are hosting delegations or fora, the international press centre in St Julian's and other venues. Kurt Camilleri, Chief Commercial Officer at GO plc said, "As the official communications provider for both the Valletta Summit and CHOGM, this has been a challenging and exciting month for GO. In addition to telephony services, these global events require super fast connections, with a minimum of 200Mbps up to 1 Gigabit and beyond, to

handle the vast amounts of real time data that is being processed. In addition to super fast speeds, these connections also need to be secure and reliable." During the recent Valletta Summit, the press centre at Fort St Elmo was, in fact, supplied with a bandwidth in excess of 1 Gigabit which catered for some 1,000 concurrent users. This was accomplished following the installation of 4.2 kilometres of fibre cable at the Fort. At the Mediterranean Conference Centre, GO also supplied internet services over WIFI in every hall and common area with a bandwidth of 300 Mbps, which was used by up to 490 concurrent users. 'The use of historic venues like Fort St Elmo and now Fort St Angelo present particular logistical challenges as the services need to be delivered without touching the fabric of these magnificent buildings and without wires or cables being visible. In GO, however, Malta has a communications provider that has both the technical and the human resources to meet the most demanding challenges," concluded Mr Camilleri.

Malta Properties Company shares begin trading Monday, 23 November 2015, 20:54
Shares in Malta Properties Company (MPC) begin trading on the Malta Stock Exchange today, following admittance to listing yesterday. This milestone represents the final step in MPC's spin-off from GO plc which began in July of this year and through which all GO shareholders received exactly the same number of shares in MPC as they already had in GO. MPC owns and administers a property portfolio covering 12 different sites which were valued at â‚Ź53 million prior to the spin-off from GO. The Company's aim is to fulfil the considerable redevelopment potential of these sites and become a leading provider of premium real estate in Malta. MPC is already working on plans to redevelop the sites of the existing Zejtun and Marsa exchanges, with the former earmarked to become Malta's largest state-of-the-art data centre. Mr. Deepak Padmanabhan, MPC's Chairman, said, "Today marks the birth of MPC as a company in its own right, completely separate to GO and focused on delivering premium property services to our clients, particularly our anchor tenant GO plc, as well as maximising long-term value for our shareholders from our extensive property portfolio. The spin-off from GO has already given all GO's shareholders an excellent return and from today MPC also offers the broader investing Maltese public a great opportunity to participate in our journey."
