JOU Hello!
My name is Joude Sayegh and I am an illustrator / graphic designer that loves to create art from time to time.
Currently a Design and Visual Communication student at the German Jordanian University. I like experimenting with different mediums when it comes to creating art and designs and am always eager to try new techniques. I am highly inspired by my surroundings, people, and the feelings that I associate with them. My illustrations and designs are greatly connected to my mood and what is influencing me at that specific time.

MAGAZINE DESIGN
THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL TOUCH DISCOVER FRESH NEW ARTISTS
ORA Magazine In this project we had to create a magazine on a subject of our choice, I chose art and ental health. We also created an arabic version of the magazine to experience the changes another language has on the overall layout. ORA aspires to provide inspiration and deliver fresh faces to the art and design community. The main focus of the magazine is mental health and how it varies from one person to another, providing information about the sensitive subject every issue.

Feature Article IThe feature article of the magazine, which is the main article, talk about the importance of the human touch and physial contact and how we’ve come to neglect it in our society nowadays. This article had to be fully created by us, so all the illustration are mine. As for the colour scheme, I wanted it to be different than the other articles so I decided to go with black and white with minimum colour to make it pop. I also made it smaller, as a mini individual magazine inside the bigger one.

Souvenir Inspired by Jordan’s national flower (Black Iris) and national bird (Sinai Rosefinch), mixed with the concept of Japanese hair ornaments. Kanzashi are frequently floral in design, especially those dictated by the changing of the seasons and used by Geisha. So it was decided that the kanzashi would incorporate the Black Iris flower, and the comb would include the Sinai Rosefinch. The final products are completely hand-crafted, with little added details to make them look more flattering. Can be displayed at home or used as hair ornaments, which is their main purpose.

Ů?App Design An app that supports artists at every level by offering a range of services to connect, inform, educate and promote digital artists worldwide. While also allowing the users to buy and sell artworks with an integrated shop, unlike other applications, that often require a third-party application or website to access the shop. With a neat, clean, and easy to use interface.

An Uninvited Guest In this project I wanted to touch on some more sensetive issues, Anxiety and depression, and what it feels like to live with both of them at the same time. It’s like you’re living in paradox: feeling both too much and nothing at all. Exhausted and high strung. Lonely but afraid of people. Being torn apart between the fear, despair, pain, emptiness, and soul-rending apathy all at once. This is how it creeps up on you with no warning, just like an uninvited guest, chaining your every move.

Typography For this project, we had to choose a quote or a word and create a clothing piece based on it, with the condition that the quote we choose has to be visible and clear. The quote I chose: “I was normal two cats ago.� I created a floor-length cape with a huge neckline, bought LED lights and put them around the perimeter of the cape to further emphasize the reflective metallic fabric inside. The outside was black velvet and the typography stood out the most on the huge neck.

Animal Inspired For this project we were asked to create an accessory based on an animal. I chose to base my piece on hedgehogs. Soft furry animals that are usually associated with spikes. So I decided to create a headpiece, emphasizing the fur and spikey hard hairs.

PHOTOGRAPHY I have always had a thing for capturing nature’s beauty, and I think the first set of pictures does just that. I wanted to capture the eerie feeling you get while walking through a forest. The contrast and diversity of the colours really caught my eye and found them extremely unique.

DIGITAL PAINTINGS I am a huge art enthusiast and I just recently dicovered digital art so I’m still trying out different styles and playing with brushes. This is a huge passion of mine and I intend to continue improving my skills and learning new techniques from other artists.
