Farm Testimony Being Prepared Hearing Set Tuesday At Itawamba College FULTON - Verbal testimony from three witnesses from each of ·.eight Mississippi counties and an Alabama county is planned for ·the Congressional sub-committee on agriculture which meets at Itiawamba Junior College next . State Federation Of Labor Elects Park To Office JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 5 CUP) The Mississippi Federation of Labor today closed out Its annual session after adopting resolutioiis . that included a demand for repeal of the st~le's "right to work" law. · Forty-five locals introduced the . resolution which described the law as "punitive class legislation" backed by industrialists to destroy unions. Another resolution asked for a $1.00 an hour minimum wage law for the state in line with a recentlyenacted federal statute. P . L. JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 5 (UP)Four idle textile mills, part of the vast estate of the late R . D. Sanders, · were purchased today by a Gadsden, Ala., real estate man. Joe L . Moore of Gadsden. who closed the deal late Tuesday, was reported to be the representative of an Eastern textile concern. He said the closed mills at l}osciusko, West Point. Winona and McComb probably would be put back into operation. . The sale p r l c e was not announced. Sanders died a year ago, leaving a large estate in indusq-ial properties. JACKSON , Miss., Oct. 6 <UP)Gov. Hugh White today announced appointment of Arnold Pyle to tlle .State Veteran Affairs Board. Pyle, Hinds County chancellor, was appointed to a seven-year ·term succeeding board Cl'lairman Smiley Shipman whose term expired · July l. White said he acted on the advice of state veteran groups.
