Due to increased enrollment in the Oxford School District, first grade classes will resume at Bramlett Elementary School this year after having been moved to Oxford Elementary School in 2014.

As the number of students enrolling in the Oxford School District continues to increase, Bramlett Elementary School will be resuming first grade classes on their campus in an effort to prevent overcrowding at Oxford Elementary. When the new high school was opened for students in 2014, the organization of the Oxford School District was slightly
shifted so that Oxford Elementary School was the only school in the district offering first grade classes. Bramlett was made so that it only held pre-k and kindergarten classes. Under this model, each school in the district, excluding the Scott Center and the Learning Center, would each house two grades, until the students got into high school. Though first grade classes are now being shifted back to Bramlett, only four classes of first graders will be there, while the others remain at

Oxford Elementary School. Principal of Bramlett Elementary School Suzanne Ryals has been with the school district since 2009, spending almost all of that time at the school. She said that having the first graders back at Bramlett is a most welcomed change.
