With Ole Miss having their off week and the Oxford School District being on fall break, there will be fewer family-friendly activities happening in town this weekend. Just 30 miles outside of Oxford in Pontotoc is Wise Family Farms that promises a pumpkin patch, corn maze and
much more for the whole family at a low price. In 1926, Monroe Wise purchased the land that now makes up the Wise Family Farm. He purchased a full 80 acres of land and was told by everyone who came across it that he ended up with sorriest plot of land in Pontotoc County. Monroe proved them wrong and spent the next few decades making a life for himself and

his family by working the land. His son would eventually take over the farm and continued his father’s agricultural endeavors when he was not busy with his day job as postal worker.
